Product Description

What are you afraid of, falling in love or something?

Ashton Wright is the quintessential artist with a tortured past. Singer-songwriter and entrancing frontman for the legendary indie band the Stick Shift Lips, he is the epitome of a rock star. He's gorgeous, talented and his fans love him. The trouble is, his sordid past continues to haunt him to the point where he's become reclusive and withdrawn. He no longer seeks the limelight and the self-destructive guilt that he carries within himself is making him question whether or not he wants to leave the band for good. Out of sheer loneliness and despair, he takes out an ad for a personal assistant.

The last thing Ashton expected was to find love and redemption in the form of Chloe Martin, a timid and shy art school graduate, stuck in a directionless dead end job. When in a twist of fate, Chloe discovers Ashton's ad in a local cafe and he instantly offers her the position, they find themselves at a crossroad.

Dare she take the job and risk losing her heart to the haunted singer? Is she the answer to his salvation? Will she be able to adapt to the provocative lifestyle of a real life rock star and his equally challenging bandmates?

5.0 out of 5 stars a sweet, hot read 11 June 2016

Hand in Glove appears at first read to be a love story centered around Chloe and rocker Ashton. Several chapters in, I found myself becoming just as emotionally attached to the secondary characters. Nick is a sweetheart hopelessly in love with Chloe. Jaime is the shameless dog of the band. And quiet Chris is a sensitive sweetheart like his brother Nick. This novel is a journey behind the scenes of the popular band Hand in Glove. A rowdy past is hinted at, but these days, they are just average guys with a brotherly relationship who fight with one another as hard as they play. Chloe completes and buffers the bond between them in a way they never knew was needed—until one climatic day, they realize the everyday tensions often exploding into chaos have subsided. I recommend this to anyone who loves a character driven story and a sweet but hot romance read.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really enjoyed this book 14 March 2017

I really enjoyed this book. It was different than so many others. Ashton Wright Is a dark brooding leading man who holds so much pain inside that at times it was hard to read. Chloe Martin is perfect for him. They took the hard road to HEA but they got there. The secondary characters are just as good too. I couldn't wait to read the whole series and find out their stories too. I highly recommend this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs a lot of help 30 July 2014

I wish I could give this book more stars, I really do. The premise is good, the characters are okay, but this book needs serious editing. I found Ashton a little difficult to like at times. Moody a lot and too hateful to Chloe for no reason. I loved Nick, he was seriously adorable. Chris was great and Jamie was a stinker most times. I grew to love them all. I just wish there had been an editor to take care of this book. Too many mistakes made for frustrating moments. Stepping on the BREAK while driving would be bad because then it would be broken and it wouldn't work. Instead they should step on the BRAKE. Making words possessive when they shouldn't be was all through this book. Lot's of history should have just been lots. Well, you get the gist of it, no need to list them all. Shortened and edited this could be an enjoyable book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stick Shift Lips....WHAT!!!!! Love it. 30 April 2015

This is the second book I've read by Maria Bernard, I love her stories. Hand in Glove introduces use to the band Stick Shift Lips and it's members singer/songwriter Ashton Wright, brothers guitar player/songwriter Nick and bass player Chris Arrow and drummer Jamie Gale. Hand in Glove gives us the story of Ashton and Chloe. Right from the beginning I loved Chloe, she sweet, sensitive, loving with a hint of fire. She's looking for her place in life but unsure how to achieve it and takes a chance on an ad she sees. Ashton had me loving him and shaking my head at times. It was great to see how his character started to come out of his shelf induced darkness he exiled himself to with the help of Chloe. The story didn't just keep to the main characters at all times, it keep us happily fed with the other band members as well letting us slowly see their personalities. The story is a great read I recommend it, you be hooked.
