Product Description

They were meant to be. But when a lie tears them apart, can their desire bring them back together?

Teagan Harper is barely ten years old when she finds herself orphaned and sent away to live at Raven’s Peak, a Gothic estate on the seaside cliffs of Maine. Soon, though, her heartache and loneliness are tempered by a blossoming friendship with the only other child living at Raven’s Peak: Kane Doyle, only two years older than Teagan and abandoned by his mother. Over the years, the pair grows inseparable. First they’re pranksters and confidants, but eventually their feelings change, and best friends turn into soul mates. On the cusp of Teagan’s departure for a university in Boston, they share a glimpse into their happily-ever-after and make promises of forever.

But Teagan and Kane’s engagement and dreams of the future are shattered when Teagan returns home to find Kane gone from Raven’s Peak—and living with someone new. Devastated and heartbroken, Teagan cuts ties with her beloved adoptive home and tries to move on with her life. But years later, when the shocking truth behind Kane’s betrayal comes to light, Teagan must decide whether to embrace her new life and let go of her past once and for all, or fight for her dream life with the only man she’s ever wanted.

I rarely get this far into a book and then abandon it, but I had to with this one. I got to two thirds of this book before I could stand it no more.
These two are utterly devoted to each other, so much so that the thought of being apart is just unbearable, yet she goes away to college just because she wants to be at the university where her parents went, ok, fair enough. Then when she has the opportunity to go home for Thanksgiving, she stays away, (even though she's aching to be with him) all because she's failing one subject ? not believable at all, this guy is supposed to be her soulmate, the one she pines for so desperately, but she brushes him off so easily. The author has set the scene, all consuming love, but hey, lets stay at college and study rather than be with him ? I don't think so. There's no mention of a career that she's working towards, in fact, she ends up running an antique business so its not as if she has a burning desire for a career. But it kept me entertained until she goes back and finds out whats happened to him. This is the point where I got totally sick of the sex in this book. I'm no prude by any means, but seriously, the graphic details of the sex life between these two became repetitive and quite frankly, quite smutty. When an author ends one chapter with an in depth description of sex between two characters then starts the next chapter with more of the same, you know she's lost the plot and is just filling the pages with gratuitous sex, lots of it. There's 31% more of this story and quite frankly, I just can't waste my time with it. Should have ended when she went back. I'm at the point where I frankly don't give a damn what happens to these two.
This would have been a nice little story and until this stage had kept me entertained.

I absolutely enjoyed this book. It really took me by surprise. I bought it because it was a Kindle deal and I'm so pleased I did. After reading the synopsis, I was interested but I had no idea the scale and depth of the emotions I would feel reading it. It truly proves the saying that love is limitless, kind, unselfish and forgiving. Don't be fooled this is much more than another young adult romance, there is a wonderful epic multilayered backstory, there is no Insta-love here.
In the novel A Glimpse of the Dream by author L.A. Fiore, we are given a glimpse of an unbreakable bond forged between two young children that grows into an incredible friendship and a profound love that sustains them through loss, tragedy and redemption. Kane and Teagan are soulmates and this is their life journey. A moving story, of grief, pain, love and heartbreak. The characters created by this brilliant author come to life on every page, you will get lost in the storyline and enjoy every last moment reading this story. Just when you think you have it all figured out the story takes a turn. I don't want to give away any spoilers as you just have to read it. What I will say is that this book just gets to you, it is heartwarming, and beautiful. It's about love, and loss, and how important family is. The author is wonderfully artful in her descriptions of everything and everyone. I was completely drawn right into the story. This one will stay with me, and is one that I will definitely be recommending.

This is a really engaging story about love; both family and the soulmate type.

The younger years of Teagan and Kane's story was very sweetly told and the cute friendship between the two children was simply adorable. You just loved it that Teagan was able to settle into a loving adoptive family despite her tragic past. However, their inseparable relationship as young adults, involving promises of a 'forever' future together, is shattered when Kane turns off his affection in a seemingly cruel way. Teagan is left to piece together her life without Kane and wonder...why?

The plot was good, the characters (not just Teagan and Kane) were very relatable and the pace flowed well. It also included intimate, provocative and sensual elements, but readers of Fiore books will know this is part of her style. The final stages of the narrative had interesting twists and reveals that kept me focused. I didn’t get the feel that Fiore tired out for the duration of the narrative, nor did she lose focus. Why not 5 stars? I felt there wasn't enough implied allusion because Fiore explained points too deeply. This didn't allow us readers the opportunity to reflect on the text because all the explaining was done for us, pretty much. There's a fine line between providing enough information to satisfy, and leaving readers with imagery that leads them to conclusions and leaves impressions...very tricky!

It's still a very good novel. I'm reminded of an old Sunday School lesson on what love is/isn't that I learnt as a never is patient, kind, protects, hopes, trusts, is truthful and perseveres. It doesn't envy, boast, dishonor others, is not self-seeking, angry or keep account of errors.

I would definitely recommend A Glimpse of a Dream to those readers who like stories about lost love, second chances, heartbreak, challenges and a sweet journey to an HEA

this is the first book I have read by L.A Fiore but it won't be the last. The story is very emotional from the first chapter where a young Teagan is brought to Raven's Peak to live with her grandparents best friend. Here Teagan grows up with a young boy named Kane, Mrs Marks, Mr Clancy and Mrs T. It is a beautifully told story that just makes you want to keep reading.
