First off, this heroine needs a head scan ASAP - she faints, is knocked unconscious or just conks out way too often. I couldn't count the number of chapters that ended with her slipping into dark oblivion.
Secondly, the title put me off - but it was free so I took the opportunity to see if there was anything here. This is one of those kitchen sink novels - as in, throw everything you possibly can into the story and pick and choose what to just casually ignore and which to pursue - a frustrating approach for the reader. Worse, the author chose to use the tired and worn approach of having a heroine who knew nothing about the magical world, then her life goes haywire - and she's puzzling out what is going on whilst trying to stay alive - all the while coming up with these nonsensical explanations to explain away visions, zombies etc, etc. In this case it went on too long, then suddenly our heroine is making gigantic right guesses - 'future is stubborn?'
There were a lot of characters, little explanation as to who is actually who, drawing out the action needlessly, lots of potential bad guys/or romance options - it was unclear. And that last bit - the female councillor? What the hell was up with that bit of malarkey? Came out of left field and should have stayed there.
