The style of writing okay and good depth with characters, but not enough of a twist in this one for me. I expected more.

I managed to read 50% of this book in the vain hope that the 'gripping psychological thriller' would grip me. Sadly it didn't. This is a YA romance. The heroine has a secret she doesn't want known, her former friend threatens to divulge it. It's pretty easy to guess what the secret iis early on. She has a boyfriend who is controlling and one dimensional but that's ok as she meets a local lad who rides and decorates bikes. She has friends who call their children Storm and Breeze. Do I need to go on? I don't think so. If you're over 17 and like psychological thrillers that make you think, give this one a miss.

This book for me did not rate as a thriller. It was more in the vain of the 1940's and 50's melodramas made by Hollywood. It was a pretty simple little story, but it was an enjoyable enough read. But I could just see Barbara Stanwyck playing the lead with Myrna Loy as the mom and of course Lana Turner would have been the villain of the piece. John Garfield would have also been somewhere in the mix.

This was not a psychological thriller but rather a cheap romance novel. I seriously could not finish it.
