This is the third book of the Beyond The Grave series. Pia is a psychic that enlists the help of an ex-Special Forces detective named Nate. Together they work together to solve a case that is 30 years old.
Right near the end of the book, I teared up. It was sad what had happened to the case victim, but she got justice.
This was a great book. I enjoyed it very much.
Again this author has woven a story full of paranormal activities that will leave the hair on your arm standing. With each of her books you are drawn in with an amazing storyline and strong characters, and this no exception. A must read for any paranormal fan!!

An entertaining story but it kind of lost its pace but then sped up in the last few chapters.
Handcuffs, a surprising choice given what Sarah has shown her. (Personally I think That other book really has a lot to answer for. I would just love for an author to write more about the intimacy and feeling. Not every woman wants to be dominated).
I think the moment near the end ,it would have been good to read that and how it was handled. Hinted at but I wanted the dialogue and emotional connection.
Overall did I like it yes, would I recommend this yes. I think what was missing for me was the tension.
this is the first book by this author I have read. the opening and the ending were superb.
The book should probably have a few trigger warnings; kidnapping, child sexual abuse and murder are all referenced, though not graphically described. The haunting around which the story occurs is extremely spooky and I found myself getting goosebumps more than once at Athena Daniels' wonderfully atmospheric descriptions.
Pia Williams has always been different. A powerfully gifted psychic and medium, she has spent her entire life knowing most people think she is either a charlatan or a freak. Finally finding her niche with a team of paranormal investigators who have a popular TV show, she was a key character in the events of the first two books in the series and now gets her own story, along with Nate Ryder, an ex-Special Forces operator now with the elite private investigations team known as Taipan.
Things go horribly wrong for Pia and her crew when they are called in to investigate a haunting at a former lighthouse-keeper's cottage at scenic Cape Leeuwin in the far southwest corner of Australia. The spirit of a terribly wronged young girl is out for vengeance, and Pia is caught in the crossfire when she falls under suspicion for a murder that the powerful spirit commits. Nate Ryder is the only person she can think of who might be able to help.
Girl Unseen is a powerfully emotional book; the story of Sarah, the spirit who Pia has to help find peace, is absolutely heartwrenching. Athena Daniels has a genuine gift for writing supernatural events fitting into the everyday in a believable way, and for writing two people finding love with each other in the midst of extraordinary events.
I loved Girl Unseen just as much as I loved the first two in the series, and I will highly recommend them to anyone who likes romance and the paranormal.
The sexiest haunting mystery I have ever read! The author really possess an open mind, she knows when to exactly reflects the themes in this story, and every part of it is engrossing, from the moment you read the first page you would not be able to stop.
What’s first seem as an act of kindness for a sorrowful soul without rest, later turns into a dangerous threat that maybe will never stop, it’s up to the steamy couple Pia and Nate to figure out a way on how to deal with this. A paranormal story with everything in between, the twists caught me completely off guard, and yes, despite this being part horror, there is nothing cliché on it, I enjoy it from beginning to end.
On a side note, I also like the fact that the description clarifies this can be perceive as a standalone story despite being the Volume 3 of the series, I have to read the previous two, from now all I can say is, buy this and read it.
Ms. Daniels is quickly becoming one of my favorite paranormal romance authors. This series took me by surprise, and I was pulled in from the first moment I began reading it. I found myself spellbound and biting my nails. These characters are misunderstood and seemingly broken until they meet the one person who can change everything. It's difficult to what each of them fight against what's best for them, and each monster is more frightening than the last. This author has a story telling gift, and I am so excited for the next book in the series.
To create a romance integrating paranormal qualities can be a challenge, but it is a challenge Athena seems to come by naturally. She offers a sense of understanding the paranormal subject matter – more that just a rich imagination – and that may be related to her other life interests that infuse her writing. She molds her characters well, allows the reality of those who have no appreciation or belief in the ‘beyond the grave’ world to grow and interact with those who do believe and in mastering this conundrum she manages to instill her mystery with palpable and erotic physical interactions.
Her synopsis explains the outline of the story well: ‘Some secrets aren’t meant to stay buried…Pia has made a dead girl a promise. One that she is determined to keep. But is she prepared for the nightmare that’s about to be unleashed? When Pia Williams, a gifted psychic medium, is contacted by the traumatized spirit of a young girl, her search to uncover the truth begins. The more Pia learns about the girl’s gruesome fate, the more determined she is to bring those responsible to justice. But is she prepared for the shocking truth of what she’s about to expose? With more questions than answers, one thing becomes clear to Pia: the girl’s spirit is uniquely powerful, and she’s killing from beyond the grave. Who—or what—is the girl now? A victim, or a demon with murderous intentions? What really happened to her? And how far will Pia go to help her get revenge? Accused of a murder the spirit commits, Pia reaches out to the only man who can help her: ex-Special Forces detective Nate Ryder. A man who is as dangerous to her heart as the situation she seeks his help with. Nate would move mountains for the woman he loves, but how can he protect her against forces he can’t even see? As Pia and Nate are swept into an unpredictable situation brimming with dark, evil intent, they soon discover they have more to fear from the living than they ever did from the dead’
Yes, part of the beauty of this book is the setting in Australia – a place that those of us who have not visited long to see! This is a beautifully molded novel, one that challenges credibility until we release disbelief and simply enjoy the story. Grady Harp, May 17
Daniels’ story is fast-paced, well written, and tremendously suspenseful. Her characters are well developed, and the plot will surprise with twists and turns. You’ll find yourself reading this in the wee hours of the night, unable to put it down. Highly Recommended.
(SPOILERS IN THIS PART): My greatest criticism would be that even though Pia has been accused of a murder committed by a ghost, you never really feel the cops breathing down her neck. You don't see the case building against her. You don't feel the antagonist. However, the story of the ghost and the answers that come as Pia investigates the true reason for the murder (also the danger that the ghost brings) is intriguing, nail-biting, and really delivers.
I do wish one thing to the author could you somehow bring Jake back? Like maybe he jumped out of the chopper and someone has been nursing him back to being healthy!
