The strength and courage shown by the characters of Penny and Yolanda to endure the hardships, and loss and the determination to overcome and make a difference for good no matter of personal cost, makes this book such a compelling one to read.
Leah uses a delicate touch as her storyline weaves the different characters in her storyline , which shines a light on the dark times endured by so many during occupation. The risks , and heroism that so many brave people showed and their actions to help others, as well as the suffering caused to so many.
The historical facts were very interesting and put into the story so beautifully. I learned a lot about Crete I didn't know before.
I just loved it and highly recommend it to everyone.
