How crazy amazing is this book!?! I only discovered this awesome human -Rachel Hollis this year. Yes, this year, 2019, Whaaat!?! and dove into Girl, Stop Apologizing before reading her other banger of a read (BOOM – IMPACT!) , Girl Wash your Face. Next up I’ll be going after Girl Wash your Face and mainlining it HARD like a round of tequilas after a Soul Cactus of a week. (Soul Cacti is bad).
Let’s focus on this read. Girl, Stop Apologizing is divided into Three Parts.
Part 1 Covers skills to surrender your grip on, and let goooooooo of yesterday. Stat.
Part 2 sets you up with the Behavious you need to rock to get after what you want.
Part 3 gives you the practical tactics in covering the Skills you should acquire ASAP if you want to achieve those dreams of yours that your soul will never, ever, EVER let go of, no matter how much you try to distract, and numb yourself from your calling. Your soul really digs YOU, and really, really digs YOU achieving your most biggest, ridiculous, audacious dreams.
According to Rachel these three things, (excuses to let go of, behaviours and habits to go after, and skills to acquire) helped her turn the ‘what if’ spark of potential into a wildfire of getting after it until its done.

One of the biggest excuses you’re confronted with when going after something a little bit hairy scary awesome is ‘I just don’t have the freaking time.’ This sexy delicious trick from Rachel has already helped me put this excuse to bed – permanently. RIP soul sucker. Five to strive is about finding one hour a day fives days a week to work on your GOAL.
Choose ONE Dream and GO ALL IN! Remember, when everything is important, nothing is important.
Your number ONE GOAL (yes … as a multi passionate who tries to work unsuccessfuly on ALL the goals all the time, Rachel asks me to focus on 1 goal atta time. She admits that it annoys people and it sure as heck annoyed me. That said, the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expect a different result – I was acting INSANE about my goals. So I adopted behaviour 2 – choose one dream and go all in, and I’m liking what I’m seeing so far.
Which brings me to 10,10,1
So what to focus on when you want to achieve ALL the things. NOW. Is this little sparkly gem.

- What are ten dreams that would maek that a reality for you? 10!

Finally, the Skill Rachel covers ‘Planning’ in Part 3 helps get you started on creating a road map for achieving your NUMBER ONE GOAL. I had to lie down after creating my road map because this shizzle was start to get way too REAL. This thing had three major things (my guide posts) that will get me closer to achieving my goal, and mile markers and everything! It was a legit road map to awesomeness.
There is so much more I can say about this book! Rachel Hollis has written one of the best books on shame-free, I’m sorry I’m not sorry, dream achieving I’ve ever read. Get this thing if you want to stop leaving your dreams on the pillow!
