This author is a genius so talented with her style of writing and story telling. Josie can solve the worst crime in her town but will she ever find true love twice she has been heart broken but I never liked her ex or her fiance, so maybe book 3 even though these books focus heavily on the crime and solving them I am hoping maybe Noah will be her true soul mate, I can't wait for book 3, these books are mind blowing and deserve more than 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🎢

I'm sorry but this book just didn't do it for me. I didn't feel invested in the characters and I didn't really care what happened to them. The plot was sloppy and there was continual reference to the previous book, which I hadn't read, but just an assumption that the reader knew all about it. I loathe stupid female names and this book had a whole cast of them including Misty, Brittney, Tara and Trinity.

This series has been a good read so far but it’s hard to believe that Chief Quinn can find so much trouble, even if she is a police woman. It’s also frustrating when she puts herself and others in danger. She doesn’t have to be a super woman, and it would be good if she was just a little more believable. However, the reading is fast-paced and the stories are well-written.

The Bones She Buried was the first Lisa Regan book that I read and, for me, it was a 5 star effort. I was really looking forward to reading another in the series but this was just awful. The story was unrealistic and it was hard to imagine how Chief Josie Quinn could have attained her position. She chased her tail all through the novel and it was only her staff that was able to keep her in line.

Another sucessful page turner that will keep you up all night. Just when you get to the end of the chapter and you think you are going to turn the light out and go to sleep... think again !

Started reading and found it very difficult to put this book down. Quinn is a very likeable character who has to put her own emotions on hold to deal with this case. Very well written and enjoyed the characters development.

Josie Quinn is called to a large house on the outskirts of Denton and is horrified by the vicious attack she sees the evidence of. The owner, a single mother, is severely wounded and her newborn missing. A beautiful young woman caught fleeing the scene is her only lead but when questioned she claims she does not know who she is or what she is doing there. As Josie digs deeper, she becomes convinced the attack, missing baby and nameless woman are connected to a spate of killings across the county.
This is the second book in the Josie Quinn series and I loved it just as much. The plot is so tight and thrilling and I thoroughly enjoyed being back in Denton and with Josie. This starts with a bang and Regan does not let the pace slip once. There are plot developments aplenty and so much action, you never know what is going to happen next, and I loved every second!
One major love of mine in the Josie Quinn series is how much it relates to Josie's life, she is inextricably linked to everything that happens. We read about the consequences in Denton following 'The Vanishing Girls' as well as catching up with the characters. There is a lot of character development in this which coupled with an exciting plot made for fantastically exciting reading.
'The Girl With No Name' is a fantastic second book in the Josie Quinn series, full of action and twists and unputdownable.

After the traumas in the first book, Vanishing Girls, Acting Police Chief Josie Quinn is planning her wedding to fiancé, Luke. But Luke is behaving strangely and Josie can’t get to the bottom of what’s bothering him. Before anything can be resolved she gets an urgent call from her second-in-command, Lieutenant Noah Fraley. Since her promotion Josie has missed being in the field and welcomes the opportunity to be hands on again.
Those who are familiar with the characters from the first book will remember promiscuous stripper Misty Derossi, the woman Josie’s husband fell in love with. Misty has been found badly beaten and the indications point to the fact she has very recently given birth. The new-born infant is nowhere to be found. The search for the baby takes priority and the investigation takes a surprising and unwelcome turn for Josie when Luke is caught on CCTV in Misty’s company, tying him to the case. When Josie drives out to his house to question him she finds a bloody crime scene and no Luke.
'She followed the streaks of blood from the door to the kitchen, where a large splatter fanned across the painted white cabinets. Pools of it collected on the tile floor. She studied the cabinets, walls, and even the ceiling for bullet holes, just to be sure, but the spatter was more consistent with a stab wound. Judging by the drag marks along the floor, the victim—please don’t let it be Luke—had initially been stabbed in the kitchen, lain there for some time, and then been dragged outside onto the porch.'
The Girl With No Name is a very fast paced, intense read. Lisa Regan masterfully weaves together a complex plot of seemingly unconnected threads as leads are followed and information gathered. Non stop action racks up the tension and keeps everything moving as Josie struggles to keep her personal feelings under control. A frightened, nameless woman wearing Luke’s clothes is Josie’s only lead, yet even so Josie can’t rely on her as a witness and nothing about the case is making sense. The random news reports scattered though the narrative are a nice touch add a little extra mystery until suddenly all becomes clear.
I warmed more and more to Josie in this story, her development is ongoing and, quite apart from her childhood trauma, she’s had a lot to cope with in her life. Nevertheless she’s a strong personality and determined to do her job to the best of her ability, not content to let others do the work. Lives are at stake and time is rapidly running out. Luckily she has Noah to back her up, always there as the voice of reason, supportive, sensible and a great foil for Josie even if she doesn’t always take the advice given. This is an excellent series, I’m looking forward to seeing what unfolds in book three and finding out more of Josie’s backstory.

I read this a week after I finished the first book. The characters that captivated me in the first book, worked their way further into my heart. The story kept me surrounded in theories but without truth, I didn’t guess correctly until things started to unravel josie is a character that brings strong emotions to the story and someone who is easily connectable to the reader. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Did I enjoy this..

Yes and No. Another American based detective story where the body count exceeds the number of characters. This book is also based around the same characters from book 1 to which DI Quinn loses out again... No real new characters were introduced so it will be interesting to see what happens in book 3 of the series. DI Quinn is a great character with a resolution of a brick wall but sometimes it's nice to see the warmer side..

Another good Josie Quinn book

As it had been some time and several books in between it took me a short time to get back into the main characters but I enjoyed this next episode in the Josie Quinn series. I would give ir four and a half stars if that was possible. When I'd finished I immediately bought book 3 and I would recommend that other readers do this.
