5.0 out of 5 stars Just as good as NVIDIA 2070 super for much less!

Finally got it working after 4 hours struggling with Windows to get it to boot. It wasn’t the graphics card but windows kept trying to boot using the old NVIDIA driver despite the fact that I had removed it 4 times! Heads up if you come from NVIDIA then windows will punish you. Remove the driver completely and ensure windows is using its default vga driver prior to fitting this AMD card. I also had to do a BIOS reset so not sure if that also solved my problem.

OK first impressions? Only tried it for a short while so far but this graphics card is simply stunning! It’s been a while since I updated my card coming from an old GeForce GTX 660. Luckily my 850 watt PSU had two 6+2 wires as that was an oversight on my part so you might want to check your PSU first as this card uses a 8 and 6 pin power connector. Basically you need two 6 + 2 wires.

I tried the graphics card on Elite Dangerous at 1440P and also 4K and at ultra settings and the game frame rate was soo incredibly smooth with stunning graphics. I haven’t overclocked the card yet so it was running at it’s default 1700MHz clock speed but the initial testing was impressive.

Update: 24/5/20. After owning the card for a week and playing several games at 4K I can seriously recommend this card. I haven’t had any driver issues nor any instability. The card runs solid even overclocked. Best graphics card I’ve had. Not sure why some people are complaining about driver issues as I haven’t experienced any issues at all so don’t be put off by negative reviews. I am using this graphics card in a system which is 9 years old running Windows 10. The AMD Radeon software is excellent and allows you to control and monitor the graphics card based on the games you have installed so you can tweak various overclock settings as needed. I’ve now got Elite running in overclock mode with 2100MHz set on the GPU and with max video settings in elite in getting back 78FPS! Overall I wouldn’t hesitate buying it again knowing what this card is capable of over the last week.

My only other advice is check the price you pay even prior to dispatch. I ordered this card on Saturday and it was at £387. Then I noticed later that day the card was reduced to £360! Amazon wouldn’t refund the difference so I cancelled it and just reordered it at the lower price as it hadn’t yet shipped! For £360 I would seriously consider this card as I wouldn’t bother buying an NVIDIA 2070 super for another £200 or so. YouTube videos actually shows this card is very close to the 2070 super so it’s definitely well worth going for this card providing you don’t want Ray Tracing which tbh after careful research I didn’t think it was worth the extra expense as only 15 games so far are supported.
