Product Description

This box set contains the first three books in the humorous Ghosts of London series about London-based ghost hunter Henrietta 'Harry' McCabre and her associates: billionaire Jarrett Zephyr-Thornton and Scotland Yard inspector Darian Watley. If you like humorous ghost mysteries, you’ll love Harry, Jarrett and Darian!

Between a Ghost and a Spooky Place (Ghosts of London 1)

When Henrietta ‘Harry’ McCabre’s employer, a dodgy antiquarian, is found murdered, she promptly shoots to the top of Inspector Darian Watley’s suspect list. Fortunately she has a solid alibi: at the time of the murder she was delivering a rare and precious book for Buckley: the Clavicule Necroire. Soon the whole case revolves around the Necroire, as the mysterious tome allegedly has the power to turn people immortal. And since Harry was the last person to handle the book, she quickly goes from suspect to target, and from being interrogated by Darian to being protected by him, at his own apartment.

Soon the hunt is on, with billionaires, rogue priests and East End crime bosses trying to get their hands on the Clavicule Necroire… and on Harry.

Between a Ghost and a Spooky Place is the first installment in the new Ghosts of London series of humorous ghost mysteries, featuring Harry McCabre, who is the cousin of Alice Whitehouse (The Mysteries of Bell & Whitehouse). The stories are set in London, and revolve around Harry, her new best friend Jarrett Zephyr-Thornton III (an eccentric billionaire’s son) and stalwart Inspector Darian Watley of Scotland Yard. In the first book Harry is recruited by the Wraith Wranglers, a group of ghost hunters, and future books will feature her, Jarrett, and Darian in a series of fun and exhilarating ghost adventures.

Public Ghost Number One (Ghosts of London 2)

When Harry McCabre is called upon to rid an apartment of its ghostly occupants, she never expected to be drawn into a murder case dating back thirty-five years. And neither did she expect to run into her ex-boyfriend Scotland Yard Inspector Darian Watley again. Soon, Harry, her associate Jarrett Zephyr-Thornton, and Darian find themselves wading knee-deep in ectoplasm and the infamous Brunskill Manor Massacre, where an entire family was murdered on Christmas Eve 1981, the killers never found.

When next she discovers a startling secret from Darian’s past, Harry quickly turns from ghost hunter into ghost hunted, as the killers add her to their list of potential victims, eager to finish what they started thirty-five years ago. And this time they won’t stop until their wicked work is done.

Ghost Save the Queen (Ghosts of London 3)

When Harry and her wraith wrangling associates are called in to deal with a poltergeist emergency, little does she know this latest assignment will land her in very hot water indeed. For it turns out that from the same home the famous Pink Eulalie ring has just been stolen, reportedly worth fifty million pounds, and the secret will of the Queen’s favorite cousin, and the only way the thieves could have gained access to the safe was with a little help from the poltergeist.

Now Harry, Jarrett, Deshawn and the Wraith Wranglers’ resident ghost Buckley are suddenly wading knee-deep in state secrets, a scandal that could end the monarchy, and the ire of the Queen herself. In this, her third adventure, Henrietta ‘Harry’ McCabre is faced with her greatest challenge yet, a challenge that has her being hounded by Russian spies, collaborating with burglars to break into Buckingham Palace, and trying to solve the murder of the poltergeist that started this whole mess in the first place.

Will she manage? And will Jarrett finally find true love? Find out in Ghost Save the Queen, the third installment in the hilarious Ghosts of London series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghosts, Mystery, Humor & A Fun Filled Story! 23 May 2017
By Sheila LS - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I got this with my Kindle Unlimited account and that is probably why you won’t see “verified purchase” at the top.

That being said, I really loved these books—my only regret is that there are not more of them! Hopefully the author will write more stories about these characters because I would definitely read all of them!

The main character is ghost hunter Henrietta 'Harry' McCabre but her associates is what helps her to be able to do her job better than if she had to do it by herself. Her first associate was billionaire Jarrett Zephyr-Thornton & what a trip he was. At first I didn’t care too much for him but he grew on me as the story progressed. He was so wishy washy and such a spoiled brat! But as you got to know him you could not help but like him—and he was so funny at times I found myself laughing. Even though Harry was a ghost hunter, one of her other associates was a ghost—her former employee, Buckley. Every thing started with Buckley when he was murdered. She became a suspect at first but Inspector Darian Watley finally ruled her out when he found out she had a good alibi. Darian was very much attracted to Henry but tried to ignore it. Something in his past kept him from wanting to be close to another woman—you will just have to read the story to find out what it was. This first book, “Between a Ghost and a Spooky Place” is about a stolen book that is suppose to have healing properties and has the ability to make people immortal.” You can just imagine how valuable this would make this book—especially to the bad guys! And of course, all the bad guys wanted this book! This story was a real adventure with Harry and her friends trying to find this book. The end concerning this book was a real surprise—who would have thought that this book did one other thing besides the things I mentioned! You will just have to read the story to find out what else this book does! So gross!

In the second book, “Public Ghost Number One,” Darian Watley turns from being a skeptic to finally being a believer in ghosts—after he has had a personal experience with a ghost himself! Then Darian is on team with the rest of Harry’s crew—the Wraith Wranglers. This story is about the massacre of a whole family—one that happened 35 years ago. One of the biggest problems is that suddenly the ghosts of this family suddenly started showing up in the house where they were murdered. The house is now an apartment complex and it just so happens that Darian and his mother each have an apartment there—that is how Darian finally saw his first ghost and became a believer. Now it becomes the job of the Wraith Wranglers to find out why the ghosts are still here and why the ghosts have not moved on—and what has upset them so much! Again, you will have to read the story to find out the answers to all of these questions. There was one surprise about one of the ghosts that lived in the house—a very dangerous ghost. The biggest surprise of all has to do with Darian’s past. This secrete was a doozy!

The “Ghost Save the Queen” is literally about the Queen of England! But to get to the part about the queen you will first have to read about a robbery of a famous ring and an important document. The document turns out to be the most important thing that was stolen. A document that could change the outcome of an important election in England. The burglars were a funny trio of men—Elvis Pressley, Chuck Berry, and Fats Domino! Even though they were crocks you could not help but like them, and even though you didn’t want them to get away with what they did, you hated to see them get into big trouble. In the end they made up for their treachery. It is because of these funny crocks and with the help of a couple of ghosts, that Harry & her gang got to meet the queen. But it is the way that they got to meet the queen that is unusual. Needless to say, you will really have to read the story to find out how the queen got involved and how the gang got to meet the queen. As I said in my opening statement, I regret that there are not more stories about these wonderful characters!

There were no steamy sex scenes in this story and no profanity—which I really appreciated! Each story has a conclusion but you should read them in order to see how all the characters met and came together. Loved these stories!
5.0 out of 5 stars Nic Saint really knows how to write characters you care about and enjoy! 5 June 2017

Couldn't put my kindle down! These are great Books. Started this series when I finished the 3 Mysteries of Max. Nic Saint is an excellent writer! I plan to read as many of his mysteries as I can.
The interplay between Harry and the ghosts is great. Really enjoy the way the Scotland Yard
Inspector keeps not believing in ghosts until he's slimed by one in book 2. The characters are strong and well written. The stories are fast paced and keep you hanging on until the end. Highly
recommend these books!
