Product Description

Under the blazing cover of a post-nuclear, technology-crippled world, Sarah Coolidge is an expert at being neither seen nor heard.

She was an afterthought to her abusive parents.

She’s invisible to the criminals she works with.

And she’ll soon be the death-dealing ghost her enemies never see coming—if she can just shake loose the one person who does see her.

The one who could ruin her.

The one who gives her a reason to live.

5.0 out of 5 stars this story has everything a 5 star book should, and more... 12 February 2016

I read this story online daily as Ms. Grey posted each day's dose of crazy good post-apocalyptic warfare. Then I bought the e-book, and am waiting on the paperback. Ghosts is unlike anything I've ever read before. I've read every single book Ms. Grey puts out and this has to be one of my favorites (even though I say that after reading each one). If you've read Kendall's previous works, you know she has a way with words, and I believe she even makes some up. the details in this book are mind blowing, knowing that they came from her brain. the world created in this book seems so far out of reach, then when you really think about it, not so much. Sarah Coolidge, the main character is broken, fragile, strong, and in the end a hero. The relationship she forms with Rukiya is one for the ages - a new age Thelma and Louise, but stronger and more kick ass. This story has everything a good one should: angst, love, hate, drama, tears, laughter, and an ending that will leave you knowing it had to happen that way, but still wishing it could have been just a little different. I encourage everyone to give this story a chance. You won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic and different, this book will rock you! 11 February 2016

This is an amazing, incredible, surprising, outstanding story. It's a masterpiece, written by a genius, I swear it. I wish I could give it 50 stars!

Take this unbelievable and totally relevant-to-your-life journey. Worth the price. In fact, it's worth it at ten times the price. Trust me on this. You are going to be amazed at this story, and at Kendall Grey's masterful execution of a tale full of love and fear, pain and redemption, good and evil, truth and deception, unearned kindness and undeserved cruelty, and ultimately of finding the heart of your life and becoming whole. It's about writing your own story, no matter where you are in your life, and not giving in to propaganda and the ramblings of madmen. It's about being lied to, being used, being abused, and being lost then found.

The book is called GHOSTS, and it's really, really, really good. Great. Fantastic. I cannot heap enough superlatives on this book to really convey to you how utterly intense and rewarding this book was for me. As I read, I went further down Grey's rabbit hole, lined though it was with nuclear weapons, medical experiments, and secret agendas. I read eagerly as I lived vicariously through these post-apocalyptic, dystopian adventures.

Parts of this book are insanely BRILLIANT! You will read words and phrases here that will make you stop, take a breath, and really rethink things before you move on. Because this story, despite the fact that it takes place in a decidedly dark and dangerous future, is the story of everyone. Each of us has lived in hopelessness at least once, experienced misery and misfortune, sought answers, found love and connection, then lost it. It's a true story, despite the fact that it's a work of immense fiction. This story, and its truths, will haunt you.

GET. THIS. BOOK! The story is so fresh yet so recognizable. The characters are real, the plot is engrossing, and the writing is beyond stellar. Yes, it's dark. Depressing at times. It's an allegory for the times we live in, and it's not a joke. It's thought provoking. It's also a demonstration of a writing talent that is so woefully under-appreciated it's criminal. Kendall Grey is the real deal. GHOSTS is proof enough of that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghosts - A page turner that makes you think... 5 March 2016

This book is very different from the Hard Rock Harlots series, that's for darn sure! I love when authors expand genres like this - it's takes major cajones! Read the opening info from the author and go into the first episodes with an open mind. The first 30 or so episodes give you snippets of information and you're not sure what to do with them. Bottom line, by the first third of the book, you have a clear picture of Sarah Coolidge's young life and how horrific it was.

Ghosts takes place in Georgia and the world is an ugly place. The earth has been destroyed by solar flares and nuclear war. Sarah is 19 years old and struggles daily to survive. She lands in prison - I won't go into the details - and then a major CME or coronal mass ejection takes place that devastates the power grid and decimates much of the planet. Chaos ensues and Sarah escapes from prison only to land in the hands of the army with an offer she can't refuse.

While training in the army faction she meets Rukiya Washington. The two discover that they are linked in a way that should make them enemies, but circumstances and time leads them to create a strong bond, one that will change their lives.

I've been a fan of Grey's work for quite a while. I've read almost all of her books. Her writing is fresh, intelligent and poignant. Even the Hard Rock Harlots books, while loaded with graphic sex have an edge that gives the reader more, more complex and multidimensional characters. Ghosts is the perfect example of her talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Riveting and page turning amazement. 15 February 2016

I freaking loved this book. I knew she was writing them online in a webisode for awhile, but I waited patiently to get them all in ebook form so I can devour them all at once.

Sarah, poor little Sarah. She's put up with a lot in her life. From her parents. Until she freed herself from them at the expense of another, or so she thought she was free. She's overcome obstacle over obstacle but never free. Fate had stepped in and threw Rukiya her way. A definite unpredictable person that should hate her, doesn't.

Both girls, with a few select candidates have been chosen to partake in a mission. For what they were told, to better the world.

Death, destruction, unexpected friendship, and possible freedom motivate these two in their trysts to get away from the nightmare they have been forced into.

Do pick up this action packed book. It is amazing. I couldn't put it down. I actually held my phone to my chest as I finished and cried with sadness and happiness.

Simply put, do not pass the opportunity to read this book. Read it, right now. I always dig the female characters this author writes, and here we get two highly memorable women. The complexity of story and the atmosphere combined with top-notch writing (and editing, thank you x 1000) will keep you turning turning turning pages with a pounding heart and eyes that won't blink for fear of missing one word.
