Product description

Product Description

As readers of Deb Atwood’s blog Pen In Her Hand know, Atwood is passionate about ghost fiction. Since 2011, Atwood has read, re-read, and written about ghost literature. 31 Ghost Novels to Read Before You Die presents a selection of the best of these posts.

Among the books discussed are old favorites (The Turn of the Screw by Henry James, The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson) as well as some indie gems (The 20’s Girl, the Ghost, and All That Jazz by June Kearns). There are ghost novels for every reader, in genres ranging from historical to literary to romance.

Spectres have been with us since the first cavedwellers squatted around the fire spinning tales and roasting marshmallows. Through stories such as these in 31 Ghost Novels to Read Before You Die, readers will discover fictional ghosts who continue to enrich us and warn us and scare us with their experiences from beyond.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable and unique 7 August 2016
By Amber McCarty - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I have never read anything like this before. I've seen things close to it, but never read anything like it. This to me is very unique and very informative. Within these pages you find information and one person's perspective on ghost stories that a recommended to read. I rather enjoyed it and would love to see more like it, hopefully from this author.

I, Amber McCarty (Imaginative Dreams), was given a copy for an honest review.
4.0 out of 5 stars help for the ghost story hunter 3 September 2016
By Rosemarie D. Hill - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I love a good ghost story but sometimes have a difficult time finding a good book in this genre. 31 Ghost Novels has been a very helpful aid in this endeavor. I was happy for the suggested books and, as a result, have found quite a few novels to explore, and many pleasurable hours of reading.
4.0 out of 5 stars Like a guide book for ghost stories 29 August 2016
By Tungsten Hippo - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This book is like a guide book to ghost novels. I found it fun to read as an "armchair traveler" of sorts, but I think it would also work well as an actually guide for someone interested in exploring the genre.

(Disclosure: I was given a free copy of this book.)
