The Gods Made Me Do It #1

(Spin off series from the Cloverleah Pack. Can be read as a standalone, but readers of the Cloverleah Pack series will recognize some of the secondary characters).

Madison Worthington has worked hard to get to where he is. Thrown out of his pack at a young age, he finds his home in the San Antonio pack, eventually talking himself into a job as Damien's PA. He doesn't get the respect he'd hoped for, but he holds his head high as he works behind the scenes keeping Damien's club and pack running smoothly. At night he dreams of a mate who will hold him in strong arms and love him just the way he is. Unfortunately, the Fates appear to have other plans.

Sebastian D'Eath, son of Thanatos the Angel of Death, has always known that the Fates would throw a mate in his path. He just didn't realize he had to dive into flood waters to stop the man from drowning. But no matter how cute his mate might look as a drowned rat, Sebastian has his arguments ready. He doesn't want a mate; won't take a mate and no one can make him. However, he soon finds out the Fates have other plans for him, too.

Angry words lead to Madison being captured by a wolf with a sick mind. Salvation comes from an unlikely quarter, but Madison returns to the pack with a change of heart. He has some scores to settle and Sebastian is first in the firing line. Hellhounds, dinners and a red convertible - will Sebastian ever get the man he claimed he didn't want?

This story is roughly 50,000 words, but the book includes a bonus short story about Thanatos and Cody.

Warning: Contains two sexy men, intimate situations and coarse language. Also watch out for a sexy twink with an attitude that won't stop, a demigod who seriously needs to grow up and hellhounds that appear without warning.

Loved this book. Though I felt badly for Madison for a long time, and felt he was too quickly forgiving of his initially cold-hearted mate, who really needed a taste of his own medicine, in my opinion. However it was a thoroughly enjoyable read. This is the first book I've read by this author, and I look forward to reading more, particularly more in this new series.

A great spinoff from Lisa Oliver's Cloverleah series. Madison has had a hard life so it was good to see he has a HEA even if it doesn't work out in the begining.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome as always. 16 February 2017

As usually I loved it. Ms. Oliver's books are some of my favorites. I have read ever book she has written at least 4 times and I am expecting this one to stack up with the rest of them and maybe even pass them. It is well written with well developed characters. This book is a spin off from her Cloverleah Pack series. This book's timeline is parallel with On The Brink Book 12 of that series. The start of this book follows allow with that book just told from a different character's POV. I would finish On The Brink first then read this book. Some of what you read will have already been covered in the other book but it is all told from Madison and Sebastian's POV. Both books are totally worth reading. I am so looking forward to what Ms. Oliver has coming out next.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love Madison's Story 17 February 2017

"Get Over It" delivers the goods! This book is the first in a spin-off from Lisa Oliver's Cloverleah Series. You can read this book by itself but I heartily recommend reading the entire Cloverleah series first because that is when you will first meet Madison. And what a character he is. I still chuckle at the scene when he threw Scott out of Damien's apartment (this occurred in Cloverleah book 3 "When No Doesn't Cut It"). In that book the reader gets a good introduction to Madison and in subsequent books more is revealed about Madison especially "On the Brink". The spin off book gives the reader the back story on Madison and all of his trials and troubles he went thru in his life before he gets his HEA. While I have always enjoyed Madison in the other books, "Get Over It" made me really love Madison. His sass, strength, feistiness, and his decision to respect himself made this book a really enjoyable read. I am a very devoted fan of Lisa Oliver's writing and ability to tell a story. And to weave all of the stories together so that the reader continues to be immerse in this delightful world of wolves, bears, cats, fea, djinn, vampires and gods is truly a gift. I have read Lisa's books over and over and each time I still end up delighted.
5.0 out of 5 stars fell in love with those sexy men and now to meet more 27 February 2017

This is a spinoff of the Cloverleah Pack series , fell in love with those sexy men and now to meet more. We meet 2 characters that do things to cause problems with others to truly hide the pain they are feeling inside. Sebastian has kept all a far distance from himself after he lost his true love centuries ago. When fate decides that it is time for Sebastian to have his true mate, things will not fall in line the way supposed to. Madison has his own little ways to things and when he meets his mate, the happiness soon falls to angst. Can these two get over there past history and make their mating the best? Can wait to see and read more in this series. Highly recommend this book

5.0 out of 5 stars Another hit for Lisa Oliver 25 February 2017

This book is the first book in the Cloverleah spinoff - The Gods Made Me Do It. I love Lisa Oliver's books. This one was no different. This can be read as a standalone but I do think you get just a little extra something if you read Cloverleah first. I have always had a soft spot for Madison and he does not disappoint in this one. Trying not to spoil anything but if you love fated mate stories, you will really enjoy this one - an under appreciated and under valued wolf coming into his own and getting his due. The bonus short was very sweet as well. Probably one of the few time you will say I really loved Death. Looking forward to more of this series.
5.0 out of 5 stars The Gods! 28 April 2017

I am so going to enjoy this series. Madison surprised me in so many ways. I'm happy that he didn't go running, to Sebastian the idiot. Once Sebastian got his head right, I loved how he went about getting his mate. Now Cody I wasn't so sure about him at first. With him leaving the way he did, I thought for a moment that he was a partner with the crazy man. But I know better now. Thanato unlike his son wanted his mate, and went after him. I felt so bad for Cody but I'm happy he didn't fight with his mate. And is now very happy. I'm looking forward to more from this series.
