Unrest brews among gods and mortals alike when Hades makes a deal with the Fates to end his loneliness in the Underworld. But when Persephone proposes to conspire with him in a plot against Demeter, things get out of hand.

Find out the truth of how Hades and Persephone met and fell in love and the impact it had on the rest of the pantheon in the throes of the Trojan War. Learn how their children--Hypnos, Thanatos, Megaera, Tisiphone, Alecto, and Melinoe--came into being. Discover why they were assigned their respective duties as Sleep, Death, the Furies, and the goddess of ghosts. Find out the real reason why the Olympians possessed such profound disdain for these Underworld gods.

This prequel to The Gatekeeper's Saga is more than a retelling of the Persephone myth. Many more of the ancient myths are woven together to reveal the conflict, tension, and relationships among the gods in one of the most beloved pantheons in human history. The Gatekeeper's Bride can be read before or after The Gatekeeper's Saga.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hades and Persephone - The beginning... 23 February 2017
By Angela - Published on Amazon.com

I love how Eva created the love story of Hades and Persephone. It's both beautiful and tragic in many ways. She captures Hades in a new light; very different from how Greek mythology depicts him. The personalities of the gods and goddesses are so well defined; each playing a very specific role.
I fell in love with this story immediately from word one; watching Hades find his new love to stave his loneliness. Persephone was completely mesmerized by him. It's truly breathtaking, but not without heartache that comes with their many trials. This is only the beginning... If you haven't read the Gatekeeper's series, I highly recommend purchasing the box set or the books individually and going from there. They're worth every penny. 5 stars for Eva Pohler's mythical, awe inspiring creation.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice twist on an old classic few have not heard ... 2 March 2017

Nice twist on an old classic few have not heard the story of Hades and Persephone, this retelling of their tale just makes sense granted a few places majorly pissed me off but not at them, this makes both character's relate ble, and even human...they fall in love, others don't like it or their love, answered so many questions i had during the Gatekeeper's series. it's the perfect setup or stand alone but if you read it first you will have to read the rest of the books no question.....i know my myths and this is my favorite retelling of this tale
5.0 out of 5 stars Eva does it again! 11 February 2017

After reading this it helped me gain an understanding of why Hades is the way he is and it angered me to how Zeus gets away with his b.s. I loved how Eva writes so you can picture her words as you read and I couldn't put it down until I finished it...I was sad it ended and couldn't help but read the Gate Keeper books in order after the prequel. I love all things Eva and in my eyes she can do no wrong with these darn Gods and Goddesses. As always I can't wait for the next book and with love keep up the great work doll 😘.

5.0 out of 5 stars A new spin on the story of Persephone and Hades. 5 September 2016
By Skylar C. Ivey-Santos - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Persephone was miserable... Until Hades took her away from her overbearing mother in this tale of secrets. Hades bore the brunt of the Olympians disapproval for stealing Demeter's daughter, when in private, they were happily married. They have five happy, beautiful children until Persephone's sixth pregnancy changes everything.

Eva Pohler tells a story of love, betrayal, and punishment, that makes the Gatekeeper's Sons series make even more interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars G[R]EEKS! Of the Gatekeepers 23 April 2016
By Brooke Wilkinson - Published on Amazon.com

The book blew me away!! I loved the Gatekeepers saga, and this just added to the great Greek world Eva has created. I have fallen head over heels for Thanatos as well as his father Hades. Hades has always been one of my favorites despite the way Disney portrayed him. I love Greek mythology and this is the best version of events I have ever read. I prefer Hypnos, Thanatos, and the Furies being of Hades and Persephone. If you haven't read the Gatekeeper saga, read it first, this book explains things that wouldn't make sense otherwise, but it can be read seperate.
