I can't help but give this 5 stars, because I am loyal to the series. I have loved all of the previous books and I do love this book, BUT it's not the best constructed book in my opinion. It seemed to rushed and jumpy. There wasn't as much from the main two characters as there has been in the past books. The story line was quite a bit different to the previous books as well, more dark and older, inevitable but it just seemed very sudden to me.
I still recommend and love the whole series and and seriously looking forward to the next book.

Great and well written series. Limited stars due to every chapter changing to different characters POV. Will continue on with series as story is intriguing.

Ok...I've loved all these books and eagerly await the next one and like all lovers of romance I want the two main characters to find their happy ever after, in the case of Derek and Sofia I always assumed that he would remain a vampire, after all I love vampires so that would be good, and I somehow hoped that something would happen to make Sofia immortal giving the book a perfect ending. The end of the last book threw my thinking for a loop, the cure had been found and Derek was human, why was I not happier, well even though I wanted them to be happy I somehow felt saddened that Derek was no longer a vampire, he'd have to be turned back surely but then would he be as strong or would he be a 'normal' new vampire, if he didn't turn back who'd keep Sofia safe, I had all these questions flying around and wondered just where on earth Bella was going to go from here, I must admit I felt a bit apprehensive on starting this book.
Now I wrote the above before I started reading as I didn't want to inadvertently give anything away but I will state that at times while reading this book I didn't like Bella very much at all, the sign of a good writer I know to bring out emotions in the reader.
It starts with Derek and Sofia enjoying their honeymoon Derek even has a tan, life is looking good, dare they even hope this continues. Meanwhile life in the Shade is not going as well Vivienne and Aiden are running things but it's not easy having the humans and vampires of the shade living in close quarters with the hunters that hate them so much surely it's only a matter of time before it blows up in their faces.
While the honeymoon's going well, the Shade's struggling, but coping and things aren't looking too bad but the evil that is the Elder and his 'children' are lurking and as with all Bella's books we're given characters that make us shudder but this time we're looking true evil in the face and it's hard to see a way round this. The Elder's after revenge on Derek and Sofia and any one who sided with them and this book, even more so than the previous ones I think takes us through a full myriad of emotions. Life will never be the same and as their worlds are turned upside down we're left wondering who'll survive and will they be the same.
As with all the previous Shade books this proved to be compulsive reading, I literally couldn't put it down, I was hooked but by the end I wasn't happy, not happy at all, I wanted it to be longer, or shorter or just different, to say I didn't like the ending is an understatement did I mention that I'm not happy, but despite me not liking it I can admit it's completely brilliant and I'll be over my little sulk and ready to download the next one as soon as it comes out so as always, please write quickly Bella, but this time I really mean it write quickly.

I bought pretty much the entire series. The books are okay, light enough to read without having to think much. Overall the storyline is very predictable and uninspiring. I found myself skipping through parts that were a little boring. Overall an alright series if you don't have any expectations, personally wouldn't read these again however.

Another absolutely brilliant book in this series, Once you pick up the book, it's very had to put down. I wanted Viviane and Xavier to get together but maybe later in this story. Still lets start reading the next one to find out what happens to Derek and Sophia. I would totally recommend it to everyone.

This was a gripping and quite tortuous read at times particularly when the elders took charge. I just want a happy ending for Derek and Sofia but they may not get it. What a chiffhanger! One more book to conclude this part of the story!!

Once again another amazzzzzing book in the series with a fantastic twist at
If you've not read these books then your missing out on an awesome journey, this series is brilliant. Filled will romance, suspense , and nerve ending situations.
The author makes these characters come to life, and you get to know them and experiance the highs and lows along with them.. I can't recommend this series enough and would give it 10 stars if I could.
Waiting on tender hooks and baited breath for book 7. Will Sofia and Derek ever get a break !!!!!!
