This was a pretty disappointing purchase. When I buy a Nikon lens and then buy a lens hood, I don't expect to make fitment adjustments for the lens hood to properly attach to the lens. The same goes here.
The Good: it feels good in the hand and allows easy access to the fingerprint scanner.
The bad: I can't use it with Moment lenses.
Like everybody else, I bought this case to have a seamless attachment point for my Moment lenses but instead, the lens mount cuts directly into the case bracket. I was able to turn the lens about 10 degrees before it got hung up on the plastic it was shaving off. I removed that thin shaving and tried to mount it again - got about 15 degrees into the 90 degree twist. Again, the shavings stopped the lens from progressing. I decided to email Moment before proceeding.
An email from Moment said "the case can be little right the first few times you mount your lens, it will loosen up over time. It is meant to be a tight fit."
There's a difference between a tight fit and what's happening. These are expensive lenses that are HEAVY. Since this fitment was built into the design of the case, what happens when the lens weight becomes too much for the mount and falls out? Will Moment replace the lens and case?
Currently, I'm unable to use the lenses with this case which defeats the purpose of the case.
Drop it. We dare you. Our Photo Case brings the best of a camera (subtle grip, attachable lenses, and a strap) and combines it with the traditions of a super rugged case...all without the bulk. Designed by the photographers at Moment this case is meant to be used. A lot. The front edges are raised so that your screen is protected. The double wall construction provides compression when your gear hits the ground. The bottom is fully enclosed to provide additional protection. The strap attachment makes it easy to add a wrist or neck strap to your phone. While the Moment Lens interface enables you to pop in a beautiful M-series lens. If you want photography and protection, this case is for you.
