one of the most important thing i wished i knew before purchasing this is the fact that it doesn't actually make for australia power point. it does come with AU extension, but the extension is wobbly and somewhat look very dangerous to leave attached to ur power board.
- seals and vacuum seals
- able to use and bag
- supplied roll of vacuum seal plastic and a few pre cut bags
- easy to use very intuitive
- powerful suction motor
- efficient sealing
- stainless steel exterior and compact. Easy to move around and keep clean
- suction motor loud (loud as any other food saver)
- extensive manual, took a while to read
Overall very satisfied.
It coped admirably and we were all done after 4 hours.
A handful of the bags didn't have all their air taken out but I was able just to slice off the top (I'd made the bags a little bit too big) and on a 2nd attempt they worked perfectly.
I think my few glitches were down to user error and the sealer receiving heavy use straight out of the box rather than any flaw in the product.
Overall an impressive tool. Not used one before so have no real reference points and I'm sure there are better and more powerful models available but this works extremely well and is tremendous value.

NB: bought in conjunction with a Sous-vide machine. Holy-mama. If it’s time to jack up your street cred in the kitchen, don’t F around. Rock these two combos out and proceed to high-five self for basically feeling like you’ve discovered fire.
One week ago I tried to use it, no suction, only sealer working.
I have done research & trouble shooting in case it was me not using it right.
It really does not want to vacuum anything.
Another issue is all has to be frozen before being able to suction!!
In other once I seen on youtube vacuum's fresh meat/food.
I loved the performance it gave me to first time I used it..
But after that it's performance flew the coop!! Very unhappy-not a satisfied client...
Item arrived in a nice. glossy retail box with everything well packaged inside. It came with the sealer itself, a simple instruction book, a suction hose attachment, a small 8" wide sealing roll and 5 small pre-made bags. It also came with a red decorative "ribbon" (there is a paper that explains what it is, and it was a nice touch :-)). Basically you can take it out of the box and start using it right away.
Once out the box everything looks well made with the top being made of stainless steel. The unit does feel a bit light though so when opening the lid it may tip over backwards if you open it too quickly. One con is closing the lid requires a lot of force to latch it down. I normally have to latch each side down separately. Once latched though the bag is firmly held in place. You can then select an option (gentle/normal/dry/moist) and then either seal or vac/seal the bag. If you choose vac/seal, the unit will start vacuuming out the air. Once it finishes it automatically switches to sealing. Note the touch panel feels conductive as it does not have the "click" or feel of pressing down on buttons. So be aware you don't accidentally "press" any of the buttons. The panel itself has light indicators to show what mode you are in. Pressing a button like "Seal" will light it up. Once it finishes sealing the light goes off to tell you it is done. It takes only a few seconds to seal.
So far the seals have been very good with no leaks whatsoever. Very happy with it and hopefully will help us reduce our freezer wastage!

I just received the Geryone Vacuum Sealer from Amazon.ca today, and I've spent the last hour testing it out.
I'm disappointed to find that the suction on the device seems poor. This is my first vacuum-sealing device, so my expectations may be unreasonable, but I plan on using the device for convenient sous vide preparation, and the suction is very poor (see: Image #1)
I can out-perform the device by sucking the air out of a bag with my lungs, or using the "water displacement" method to remove air from the bag (see: Image #2).
In short, I've either received a defective, under-performing unit, or the Geryon vacuum sealer is not what I was hoping for.
I'm hesitating to put this review on Amazon, as I'm hoping that the issue is my own error. I've read the manual, and found the troubleshooting tips for "Air is not vacuumed from the bag" to be unhelpful....
...OR THAT'S WHAT I WAS GOING TO WRITE, UNTIL I SCRUTINIZED THE MANUAL MORE CLOSELY AND NOTICED THIS AS I WAS WRITING THE REVIEW ABOVE:
And then I realized my error! (see: Image #3)
My only complaint about the device, now, is that the instructions do not explain super-clearly what the "vacuum chamber" is. The dark images of the device do not make it clear that it's important for the bag to terminate in the groove in the bottom half of the device (i.e. the vacuum chamber).
Anyway, chalk it up to user error, but might I suggest you consider revising your instructions manual with clearer picture, or possibly black-and-white diagrams that make it clearer what the "vacuum chamber" is, and why it's important that the end of the bag terminates inside the groove?
Might have saved myself burning through all-but-one of the included bags trying to discover my error (thanks for those, by the way!) Then again, I might be so thick that I wouldn't have noticed even if the instructions were clearer.
Anyway, since I discovered the flaw in my preparations, I've had several successful suck-and-seals, and I'm very happy with the results. Only one evening (and 7-8 bags) in, and I'm quite happy with the results. Can't wait to test-drive these puppies on my next sous vide turkey! (see: Image #4)
