Product description

Product Description

Cassidy Nolan is a drug addicted journalist responsible for one of the most iconic photographs of the new millennium, fourteen years on from capturing the image, it has become a significant part of the documented experiences of an event that has tipped the world towards the precipice of an uncertain future.

A chance encounter with Paco, a street kid who deals only in absolutes, will see both of their paths converge on the discovery of a sinister truth about the world in which they inhabit. Even if they survive long enough to reveal what they have uncovered, there are no certainties that it will change anything in an uncaring world that is long past its expiry date.

A thrilling and yet terrifying glimpse into a possible future. This story twists current affairs into a future nightmare were humanity's only hope is in the hands of incredibly flawed characters. All this combines to create a compulsive read that sucks you in and challenges the way you think. Amazing.

Enjoyed this book from the beginning. Enjoyed the way the author changed my view on the characters from the outset. Certainly easy to imagine a world like this one. The book contained all the right ingredients to keep the reader turning the pages. Good guys and bad, Beasts and bad lands and a great story line with and slight twist in its tail. Will watch this author with some interest and see were he takes us with the next one.

Future's Orphans was a good read. Entertaining, insightful and well-written. it was very easy to visualise the scenarios and I found myself drawing comparisons to films such as "Starwars", "Total Recall" and "Blade Runner". Bounty hunters and genetically modified people, stark landscapes and grim world-weary characters abound. It would translate well into a film.
