Product Description

For Mackenzie Cox, racing motorcycles is in her blood. Born into a family legacy, she's determined to show the world that she has inherited her father's talent in this male-dominated sport. The last thing Kenzie needs is to be antagonised by her rival team's newest rider, Hayden Hayes. Hayden, exceedingly arrogant and outrageously attractive, immediately gets under Kenzie's skin and she can't help but be distracted.

As Kenzie and Hayden push each other on the track, the electric energy between them off the track shifts into an intense - and strictly forbidden - attraction. The only rule between their two ultra-competitive teams is zero contact. Kenzie needs a win, and she also needs to stay away from Hayden. Unfortunately for her though, one thing has become all too clear: she can't.

Fuelled by passion, driven by desire, Hayden and Mackenzie both want to win more than anything else. Except for, maybe, each other. But anger, jealousy and extreme competitiveness aren't their only obstacles . . .

“Race me or chase me, Kenzie.”

Well, this is new! I don’t think we’ve ever reviewed a book where we both haven’t read the author's work before! When we were offered the opportunity to review this new offering by this author which we understand is the start of a brand new series, we both felt a rush of excitement. We think the cover helped as it’s a scorcher and when we saw him on the bike, it was a no brainer! We didn’t bother reading the synopsis as sometimes we like to go in blind and experience the unexpected, especially when it’s the start of something new. We do enjoy a forbidden love story and from the first chapter we were hooked and excited to find out more!

“**** you, Hayden.”

“Just pick a time and place, princess, and I’ll scratch whatever itch you’ve got.”

This book fully immerses you into the fast and dangerous world of bike racing! As we’ve not read a motorbike related book before, we were intrigued by all the lingo and scenes they conjured up in our minds. The descriptions of the scenes were nothing short of brilliant and at times we felt we could actually smell the oil, heat and burnt rubber when the bikes were let loose on the race track!

“We’re magic together, Twenty-two. Just admit you need me … and we can take this up a notch.”

Mackenzie Cox is not a woman to be messed with! We really do love a strong female protagonist and we were not disappointed. She’s sassy, hardworking and driven (no pun intended). Unfortunately, she’s found herself in the unenviable position of being the saviour to her father’s ailing bike racing business.

Furious Rush by S.C. Stephens is an absolutely jaw-droppingly amazing story about love and the world of motorcycle racing. Featuring both the hero and the heroine as competing racers this story just completely blew me away.

Kenzie has known nothing other than rules and racing and is so beyond happy with her lot in life that she doesn't question much at all. Except she is beginning to feel the pressure of winning and bringing success to her father's racing team. And her father never seems to be her father, just her racing coach and boss. So perhaps she isn't as gloriously happy as she thinks she is...

Hayden is trouble. He is gorgeous, skilled on and off the race track and spells disaster for Kenzie as she cannot get him out of her head. Despite all the rumors floating around about him, Kenzie is drawn to Hayden and the fact that she is a better racer when she is racing against him isn't an easy pill to swallow either.

Told from Kenzie's POV throughout, this story has intrigue, angst, lust, longing, betrayal, suspense, heat and more. It was a wonderful read that I couldn't absorb fast enough and I really hope there will be more coming in the future from this world of racers and speed demons!

I love S C Stephens books, writing and characters and this book is no different. The two lead characters were amazing I just wish there was more to their story as in another book or two.

OK, even though I think people racing motorcycles have a death with, I love it.

And it made me wish I was back in the days when I worked in race teams. Sigh how I miss those days! The smell of burning rubber, the noise, the excitement.

Right from the start, Furious Rush is an action packed, adrenaline filled story. Set in the world of illegal street racing and legal circuit racing, this had it all for me.

I thought it was going to be hard for me to let go of my book husband Kellan, but Hayden, with all his secrets and flaws comes a pretty damn close second.

Kenzie and Hayden have been told they couldn't. They shouldn't. They can't. But what happens when they do?

As much as I loved Kenzie and Hayden, I gotta say, I really don't think I liked many of their co-stars. The family and friends, most of the time they brought out violent tendancies in me, and one pretty main character I just wanted to nut punch from the first time he was mentioned until the last page of the book he p!ssed me off that much!

I would have liked to know a bit more about Hayden - this being told all from Kenzie's POV gave us a lot of her, but maybe just a couple of chapters from his POV would have given us that insight into him that I felt I was missing - because at times he did some stuff that I was all "really? WTH is that about?"

But that could just be me.

And also, I am not sure if there is going to be more about these racers, but there was something at the end that could be set up for another book? Or not, I guess we will just have to see.

From the green light to the chequered flag, Furious Rush kept me intrigued, and I read this book in one sitting.

1.0 out of 5 stars I Couldn't finish It 27 December 2016

Let me start off by saying I hate not finishing a book; however, I've been trying to read this book for several days now. Each day I only read a small portion because it's just so boring! Kenzie was too much of a "B" word for me. It was okay when I was about 11% into the book, but when I got to 39% and it was the same thing, I couldn't take it anymore! I don't like the idea that she would be thinking one thing but then say the exact opposite to Hayden. The book was too slow and a bit childish to me. There is a bit of suspense in there but I was unable to get to the bottom of it. After days of attempting to read and skipping page after page, I've decided I'm done here. 4.99 down the drain.

4.0 out of 5 stars An adrenaline packed enemies to lovers romance... 23 August 2016
By Jessica Sotelo - Angie & Jessica's Dreamy Reads - Published on

"He didn’t like me, I didn’t like him. That was our… thing."

Furious Rush is an adrenaline packed enemies to lovers romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a bit slow moving at first, but by about the 40% mark, I was hooked. Mackenzie Cox is a straight laced motorcycle racer who follows the rules while quietly longing for the approval of her father and the respect of everyone else in her male dominated field. Hayden Hayes is a street racing rule breaker that doesn't really care what anyone else thinks. Together, these two are explosive. Like magnets, they push and pull, slinging insults and digs all the while a quiet, unrelenting attraction simmers beneath the surface. When their worlds collide, lines are crossed, the respective codes they each live by are broken, and the course of events that evolves is both unpredictable and completely addictive.

"I was instantly captivated, and I hated that I was. This guy was neck-deep in a world that twisted my stomach, a world that spat in the face of my sport. My career."

This slow burning romance is packed to the brim with angst. The dynamic between Hayden and Kenzie is messy, it's forbidden. It evolves primarily on the precarious line between love and hate. They each race for rival teams... teams that hate each other and where communication between its members is forbidden. But their competition only fuels them, driving then to be better at their sport, better than the other. Their ruthless feuding on and off the racetrack is like gasoline on the smoldering attraction between them... and you just know that when it all comes to a head, it's going to be explosive.

The intrigue that surrounds these characters, the secrecy between them, all the uncertainty just kept me enraptured. There's so many layers to pull back about Hayden, about the rivalry between the two racing teams, about who is to blame for the strife on the tracks, about the woman in Hayden's past. You really don't know who to trust, who to believe. You'll read this story with knots in your stomach, just anticipating when the bottom will drop out from beneath everyone involved.

SC Stephens weaves together such an emotional, exciting, riveting romance with Furious Rush. The competition on the racetrack juxtaposed with the sexual tension burning between these racers makes for a pulse pounding, addictive storyline that's thrilling in more ways than one. I love the dynamic this author crafted here between Kenzie and Hayden. They bicker, they're competitive, yet they thrive off that competition, they feed off their attraction. The forbidden nature of their working relationship and the impossibility of their romance makes for an unpredictable storyline in and of itself. But throw in the secrets they're both carrying, the rivalry between their racing teams, the suspenseful subplot, the colorful secondary characters, and you have a book that's the total package.

Furious Rush is sexy. It's hot. It's romantic. It's exciting. The storyline is layered, the writing is clean. There are moments so steamy, you'll need a cold shower; moments so emotional, so heavy, your heart will break a bit. But center stage is this pulse pounding romance that feels impossible, feels doomed from the start, yet it's rife with a decadent chemistry so tangible, you can't help but be completely invested in the difficult course set before these characters. Furious Rush is an adrenaline-spiked forbidden romance that is completely unpredictable and the surprising twists keep coming, literally, until the very last page.

I absolutely love SC Stephens and her books and I was not disappointed in this new series. We was giving a new book boyfriend in this one. He is hot and sexy and very determined in what he wants just like Kellan was. This book will leave you satisfied buy dying to know what is in store for the characters in the future.
Makenzie is a girl trying to make a name for herself and live up to her family name in a man's world of motorcycle racing. She is living in a world where nothing that she does is enough. She is trerated more like a regular employee by her dad instead of his daughter. She struggles to get herself where she knows she should be to help the family and business out financially. Her dad is pushing her to raise to the top and help save Cox racing and gives her an even harder ultimatum when her finds out that she has been breaking rules of the ARRC racing and also rules of Cox racing by getting involved with a Bennetti racer and spending time training with him and then racing on the streets to try and save her family business.
Hayden Hayes is the ultimate bad boy in a racing world. He is strong and seems to make Makenzie want to push harder to do better. He is brought into the ARRC off of the streets and at first he tries to do the right time and stop racing on the streets but being from a broken family and trying to help the only family he has he can't give it up when a small child needs him to help pay for medical expenses. Him and Kenzie start hanging out anf training together even though they are forbidden by team rules. Then when he falls for her and is determined to be her saving grace and keep her safe on the streets and on the track. He falls hard for her and struggles with his feelings.
This book will leave stratified with how it goes and leaving waiting to see what happens when Makenzie is balck balled y her own family and wanting to continue to race after her team is shut down.I can't wait to see how this one continues and what is in store for us in the next book.
Thanks SC Stephens for giving me another book I could not put down and left with another book hangover.
4.0 out of 5 stars To make matters worse the Cox Racing Team is about bankrupt 25 August 2016

Furious Rush by S. C. Stephens is a winner.

Mackenzie Cox has a lot to prove in the world of motorcycle racing. Living in the shadows of her father, a racing legend, being a rookie in the sport as well as being the only female on the Cox Racing Team, is pure pressure. To make matters worse the Cox Racing Team is about bankrupt. The major financial problems could make or break the existence of this legendary team. Their rival competitors are the Benneti Motorsports team. There is more to it than being competitive teams, there is bad blood between them. The owner Keith Benneti is her father's worst enemy.

Mackenzie's rookie year has her in a complete tailspin. Her main competition is Hayden Hayes, a former street racer that rides for the Benneti team. She hates that she is immensely attracted to the enemy. There's more to Hayden than his illegal racing past. He revs her motor in many ways. His influence makes her a better rider.

With Hayden's sketchy past and position on the opposing team, he is off limits. Plus Cox Racing is experiencing sabotage every race day. Is Hayden behind it? Is Benneti Motorsports behind it? The sabotage will ruin what is left of the Cox Racing Team.

When her father learns she is fraternizing with the enemy, it could very well ruin Mackenzie's position on the team as well as her career in racing. When she's forced to do the unthinkable to save Cox Racing. She has more to lose more than her position on the team. She may lose everything she holds dear.

Once again S. C. Stephens delivered a red hot book loaded with pure angst. I can't wait to see what comes next.
5.0 out of 5 stars I have been living under a rock to not have read this book until now. Why did I wait so long !! I absolutely loved it 9 June 2017

I have been living under a rock to not have read this book until now. Why did I wait so long !! I absolutely loved everything about this book.

Kenzie and Hayden shouldn't be together hell they shouldn't even be talking to one another. Enemies because of who they race for but yet there is something there. These two were like dynamite a slow burning kind of chemistry that were just waiting to explode. When they did there would no doubt be some casualties.

Kenzie is a racer not your normal girly girly, I love that about her. She was loyal to her family, specifically her father who was a racing legend.

Hayden OMG I immediately thought danger, bad boy sexy and someone that would corrupt you. But deep down he was protective and trying to do the right things.

I could not stop reading this book and these two had my heart racing not sure how this would all turn out.

I loved this book and can't wait to dive into book 2
