Product Description

Matt Connaught wants nothing more than to enjoy life with his new wife, Michelle, and to catch up on lost time with his parents, who were held captive for seven years. As a member of one of the wealthiest families in the Terran Federation, this should be easy.

It's not.

Because Matt is psychic. If anyone outside of his family discovers his secret, he'll be taken from his family and forced to serve in Psi Corps. When Federation agents come looking for him, Matt and Michelle have only one choice—to go on the run.

But how can they hope to escape from Psi Corps, when the Corps has the full might of the Terran Federation behind it?

5.0 out of 5 stars For the Young, and Young at Heart 13 August 2016

Henry presents a story that is aimed at a maturing readership. The complexity of his writing style is similar to some of the juvenile Heinlein novels, and holds the reader's attention in the same manner. I would encorage parents of younger readers (say 12 - 16) to use Henry's novels to hook these young readers into a lifetime of reading. "The Fugitive Pair", and its predicessor, "The Fugitive Heir" are great entrants to the field of science fiction for young adults, while still being accessible to the older crowd.

3.0 out of 5 stars Matt and Michele reprise the same tricks 8 August 2016

I quit reading at 35%. I like Vogel's writing so much I didn't read much of the preview. The first alarm was a really incomprehensible and irrelevant conversation with two women which was more rude and insulting on the Matt-Michele side than the other side. Then there is no mystery about who the bad guys are like in the first novel. We know from marketing material they are running from psi corp. The surprise about Michele only works once. Then they do a series of stupid things. They drive up to a bunch of psi corps security guards who are just bound to get curious because there is no other destination on that road. Then they walk into a country bar out in the sticks. I'm sorry. That doesn't fly on planet earth in any country I know of. Then when sensing danger they don't leave. All this nonsense winds up with them repeating the Mandy and George routine from the first novel, which was the worst part of the first novel for me (maybe you will like it). All this is leading up to them abandoning their ship and letting it fly off into space, They are going to be stuck on the same space station they were stuck on before. Sorry. I quit. It just isn't entertaining for me. (I got a refund from Amazon, which previously wasn't possible ... not sure how to handle reviews in this case, so gave it a neutral rating)
4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfying sequel to Fugitive Heir 1 December 2016

This was a very solid sequel to Fugitive Heir. Matt and Michelle return and the link between them shines bright as they find a new enemy to escape and defeat.

It is in some ways very similar to the previous book, but that is not entirely to its detriment. Matt and Michelle are only a little older and it shows in their playful and sometimes a bit saucy banter.

I'm not entirely happy with the villain. Faceless corporate/government entities play great in movies, but I thought that there needed to be a bit more, and the ending isn't as strong as the first book, but that's my only real complaint.

Fun novel

5.0 out of 5 stars Action, suspense, beautiful women - what's not to like? 31 July 2016
By Doug Irvin - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Matt has a problem. He’s one of the richest – if not THE richest – young men in human space. Plus, he’s married to a girl he thinks is the most beautiful alive.
But he’s also the most wanted. Someone is after him, and to keep his freedom (maybe even his life) he has to run, and run fast. Fortunately his beautiful bride is as deadly as she is lovely.
They run – but there is no relief. Wherever they land they find opponents. Some want to capture him for his unique talents. Others – they just want to kill him, because.
The Fugitive Pair takes off like a bat out of –well, never-mind. It’s fast paced, full of action, and filled with surprises. And the climax is truly fitting After all, if there is no place in the universe for you, you have to make your own.
The only downside in the story caused me to read another story with pleasure and anticipation. I recommend you read The Counterfeit Captain to fill in background. Actually, it’s worth the read on its own.
Get the book; you’ll be glad you did!
