Product Description

She's never needed a man but she'll make an exception for her big, sexy alien.

Chara has a past. Her memories are used to create an exotic drug called Freeker. But she doesn't remember what she's done or why. She just knows that Warrant can get her away and his unusual DNA means he's safe from her. But how can she convince him to help her escape when it risks everything he holds dear?

If there's any way an independent trade ship can make a credit or two to support the Scoriah, pilot Warrant Bronson is willing to give it a go. Smuggling, delivering goods, or gun running--none of it is too risky when it comes to the survival of his brothers and family.

When a paid escort turns out to be a stowaway, Warrant has no choice but to run. But ripping away from port leaves the ship damaged and dragging a docking boot. Giving up his uninvited guest is the only way to get his ship free and finish his trade run, but giving up Chara isn't so easy.

Freeker is a science fiction romance novella in the Space Grit series. Reading in order is recommended but the story can be read stand-alone

Warning: This novel is intended for readers 18 and older. It contains explicit scenes, language, violence.

This novella was previously available in the Deep into Darkness box set

4.0 out of 5 stars A Reading the Paranormal Review 21 March 2016

I wasn't entirely sure what to make of Chara at first. The flashes of her memories we saw genuinely made me wonder if I would like her. I mean, she seemed to revel in the destruction she'd caused--what little she could remember of it--and I kept wondering how she was going to fit in with the Twelfth Night crew if she couldn't rein in those murderous impulses.

I guess I forgot how hardy the Scoriah are. They can more than hold their own against one little human. No matter how deadly she might be against her own. Plus, as it turns out, Chara has good reasons for doing what she did. It just took a while for her to figure that out.

I'm still curious about Tee and his extreme reaction to one of his brothers finding a mate. The guy intrigues me a little more every time I read about him. His time will come. I'm sure of it. In fact, here's to ALL the brothers finding their special someone at some point.

3.0 out of 5 stars Another Scoriah Finds a Mate 4 May 2016

The next of the Scoriah to find a mate is pretty predictable. That does not make the story less fun. Pick this series up for a fun read. There is romance, danger and tension making for a good time for all.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really liked this story 31 March 2016

I really liked this story. Like the rest of the series, this is a story about violent people, violent action, but ultimately real tender love. Chara is an odd heroine, but the author makes you start to like her, despite her violent past. If you liked the first two books, this one is just as good.
