3.0 out of 5 stars her motives or the love interests all that much yet 6 June 2017

*I've been sent an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*

I've had a very short preview, the first couple of chapters, from what will be a longer story. Considering that, I have a lot more questions than answers and I'm basing my review off the fact that as this is the first of many, we don't really know the main character, her motives or the love interests all that much yet.

That being said, the writing style is good and the world building shows of really interesting things to come. In my personal opinion, I felt as though the story delved into the action too quickly and started right away with introducing the love interests. Even considering the trigger warning, and I do write darker themed things myself - so it is not that content that bothers me so much, I found it hard to relate/connect with the heroine too much at this point. However, like I said, due to the short length of the serial that I've read this could change within a few chapters.

With that in mind, I am keeping this review OPEN and To Be Updated pending more releases. All in all, we are off to a good start.

19 pages for 99 cents start to add up, this could end up costing about $16 for a 300 paged book. Yes, it is a interesting concept but it is so confusing. It is an amalgamation of "dark paranormal" concept that need to be fleshed out more. Please get a larger group of pre-readers to give you more honest feedback. I would love to read this once it is more fully developed but not at 5 cents a page.
1.0 out of 5 stars No thanks 20 June 2017

This is not a finished story, only a few chapters. The writing is poor and there is rape. Nothing I read makes me want to continue to read the story even when it does come out. This is a poor choice for the type of story that would be suitable for a serial novel.

2.0 out of 5 stars Egh 7 June 2017
By Amber L Hamblin - Published on Amazon.com

I was confused from the get go, Im unsure if it will be explained further in the weeks, but i felt as if the beginning was not a good way to start. There wasn't many details so it was hard for me to pick what has happening in the book. Also when the "Evil Guy" was shoving his **** down her throat, you figure she would have fought harder or biten him or something, she just let it happen. IF she was struggling it was not portrayed very well. I gave 2 stars simply because I liked the chicks attitude when she flicked said mean guy off. Also the chapters were wayyyy to short. It was only like 1 kindle page per chapter. At least make 2-3 pages per chapter, even if it cuts the book to 10 chapters. It is better than have 20 chapters each 1 page.

Maybe it will get better in the upcoming weeks.
4.0 out of 5 stars First time reading a serial 7 June 2017
By Kelly - Published on Amazon.com

So this is my first time reading a serial, and I'm still on the fence as to how I'll feel about a serial in general. This review is only for the actual writing.

I enjoyed this first part. The writing within the paragraphs was very detailed, so it was easy for me to picture what was going on. However, it was a bit choppy from paragraph to paragraph. It seemed to jump around a bit, especially the trial scene, so that was a little difficult to follow. But after that, it flowed much nicer.

I liked the heroine a lot, she was sassy and strong without being too stubborn headed (for example when she chose the "easy way" when the guards came to get her the first morning. Smart girl) but she was still mouthy, which was just her being her and I liked.

The scene where she first meets the guys is also a bit choppy, but still steamy, although dark (which is fine by me).

I am certainly intrigued to continue reading this serial and dive more in depth to this world.
