Product description

Product Description

When Grant Hardy, Meltdown’s lead singer, falls off the stage in the middle of a concert while under the influence, his record label has no choice but to step in and take control.

The solution is simple.

Send Grant to rehab and avoid a public relations nightmare by covering it up as a bad case of the flu.

When the rehab facility’s recommendation for extended treatment starts to affect the label’s bottom line, they are forced to find an alternative solution – hire an in-house counselor for the duration of the tour.

There’s just one problem.

Grant Hardy isn’t an addict.

Favorite Quotes:

What you did in your past is just that, the past. There’s no shame right now in this room, Mallory. There’s only you and me.

I’m going to love you forever.

My Review:

Not a typical rocker romance, Fractured Beat was extra special and had an intriguing mystery and a shocking who-done-it I certainly didn’t see coming. A hybrid mixture of suspense, rocker, and adult romance, the plot was entertaining and easy to follow and I was quickly engaged with the storyline. The characters were diverse and appealing, although not always likable - just like most real people I know. In attempted to solve the mystery, I devised and tossed several theories, but I was wrong, so wrong. I was eager to solve the identity of the saboteur but couldn’t settle on just one and had difficulty in determining a motive. Once the romance began, the storyline sizzled and snapped with sensuality, Grant was a rock star after all, and in more ways than one.

it was amazing

Read from November 11 to 12, 2016

Gifted copy for an honest review.
There is a lot to this story, not just Grant and the band but also Mallery and how she ended up being a counsellor. I must say I had a whole mixture of feelings reading this, outrage, anger and puzzlement at the rest of the band members for not once believing or supporting Grant when he was taken ill. Sadness for Grant himself for what happened, pride in him for how he handles it all. Disgust for the so called management team and love for the Hank and the other security guys who do believe in him, support and help him get answers.
Mallery, I don't think she had much of the right support when she was not only training but when she had her accident. No wonder she had so many problems and her behaviour wasn't the best at the time. She turned it all around though all on her own and tried to do better herself and help others. Meeting and getting to know Grant and the others, getting very little information on what happened to him, her training tells her there is so much wrong with it all.
With a few twists keeping you guessing almost all the way through as to the whole truth I got sucked in and tried to figure it out myself, I must say the author did a fantastic job and it wasn't who I thought at first, though I did suss it out near the end before I got the answer. Boy! it is a bit of a shock as well, not just for the reader either.
Great story, I love those that make me use my mind to try and work out the truth even while the characters are doing the same and I will be checking to see if there are other books in this series.

No one can imagine the state of anxiety in which I was before I read this book. Since RB Hilliard told me that she was going to write a new book I barely fit in myself.
Did you guys know this author? You don't? What are you waiting for?
RB Hilliard has a simple writing, striking, captivating and with much attention to detail. The way she begins each of her books can hold us in a way that it is impossible not to love her works.
Fractured Beat tells the stories of Grant and Mallory and the entire book is toggled between their views.
Grant is the lead singer of the band and he loves what he does. He struggled in his junior years to follow his dream and because of his persistence and the help of his best friend they manage to create Meltdown. During the concert Grant passed out and was taken to the hospital. After being accused of something he didn't do, he needs to realize who is trying to sabotage his career and sent him to rehab.
Mallory had an episode that marked deeply her life and this secret have corroded her inside, because keeping secrets is not always a good thing. She's a therapist specialized in helping addicted to substances. She loves her work and when it is given the responsibility of rehabilitating the enigmatic Grant she has no idea the work she will have.
The way the whole story unfolds is amazing and captivating at the highest level. The suspense that involves certain chapters have managed to keep me totally hooked on reading and I didn't want to stop because I wanted more and more. Love and second chances are featured in this plot and of course there has to be someone very evil and greedy capable of the greatest barbarities to get what he/she wants.
But now we go to what really matters ... the hot scenes ... oh my god the hot scenes ...

Grant is the lead singer in a band called Meltdown, and is sent to rehab after being accused of a drug overdose that he denies. As part of him being let out of rehab early he has to have an in-house counsellor, being Malory who he takes a disliking to in the beginning.
Malory and Grant do back and forth with Grant being suspicious of everyone while he tries to find out who drugged him, and Malory trying to hide from her past. When these two are together you can feel the sizzling chemistry that they are both trying their hardest to deny.
Throughout the story, you can see that both have feelings for each other, with everything going on, Malory worried about her past and how it would look having a relationship with a client, and Grant trying to find out who drugged him and why.
The intrigue with finding out who drugged Grant and will Grant find out who drugged him keep me reading till the end, and it was certainly an ending that I didn’t see coming.
