Review

The forces of good versus evil are apparent throughout "Forsaken Dreams," and I am intrigued and motivated to read the next book in the series. There is no doubt that MaryLu Tyndall is a talented author who writes stories with unique settings that offer powerful messages of love, forgiveness, redemption, and peace. -- (01/13/2013)

Oh, where do I begin? I've read four other books by MaryLu Tyndall, but this one- this one was certainly the best out of all of those of hers I've read. I've always loved larger-than-normal casts of characters, where intersecting stories combine into one great plot. My own writing tends towards this direction, but I haven't read a lot of novels like this. I think that's why I liked this book so much.-- (01/24/2013)

Emotional, action-packed, riveting and inspirational are just some of the thoughts I had about this romantic adventure. As always, Ms. Tyndall's detailed accounting of landscapes, sunrises and sunsets to the inter-workings of a ship of this era are tantalizing keeping you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. Characters' diverse personalities, skill-sets, strengths and weaknesses are blended well bringing them to life, if only in your imagination. -- (05/13/2013)

Just when I thought MaryLu could not possibly top her last book, she totally blows me away with another! This book is utterly fantastic, and I had a terrible time putting it down. Not only does the plot surround the hero and heroine, but there are also fascinating subplots involving the secondary characters aboard the ship. ...Very well written with realistic characters, an utterly compelling storyline, and tremendous use of imagery, I can honestly say...MaryLu Tyndall has crafted a masterpiece here! I simply can't wait for Book Two in this series!-- (01/12/2013)

This book grabbed my attention from beginning to end. I could not put it down. I knew Marylu was a FANTASTIC writer, but this book has only further shown what an amazing, talented author she is. I, as with all her books have found a renewed faith through her writing. This one especially. Her way of stepping into the character and trying to understand what life would be like for them is nothing short of amazing. She makes the character come alive in a way that many authors before her would have failed at. It is a very good read and I will suggest this book a hundred times over.-- (03/26/2013) --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From the Back Cover

They left everything behind to build a new Southern utopia. . .

Colonel Blake Wallace has seen enough death to last a lifetime. Weary and disillusioned, he slumps beneath the weight of defeat and loss. With his entire family murdered by the North and his name appearing on a list of officers wanted for war crimes, Blake organizes a shipload of southerners who, like him, long to escape the horrors of war and start a new life in a verdant land called Brazil.

Eliza Crawford can barely remember the days of her youth spent in opulence and comfort at her Georgian home. She can't help but wonder how different her life would be had she not met her late husband, Stanton Watts, a general in the Northern army. Now a war widow, Eliza is rejected by both North and South. Desperate to keep her marriage a secret and escape her past and pain, she hopes to start over again in Brazil.

But once the voyage begins, troubles abound. Dangers at sea and enemies from within threaten to keep Blake and Eliza from the new life--and love--they long for. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
