Product Description

Sometimes your first love is also your last.

Andrew Callaway doesn't do love — not since Amanda broke his heart and left him in a cloud of dust. Devoting himself to the family ranch, he’s determined to be the man his dad would be proud of, minus the one-night stands and stream of mistakes. Five years after watching her drive away, his first love is back. Andrew finds himself wanting more than meaningless easy conquests, a lot more.

Following her dream of becoming a chef, Amanda Watkins left Montana with a beat-up pickup truck and a broken heart. Five years after watching Andrew fade away in her rear-view mirror, she's back and is dead set on avoiding the man she still dreams about. When she's hired to cater for a Callaway celebration, sparks fly and old emotions run hot. If she thought the boy she knew was dangerous, she's about to find out that the man he became is lethal.

Blame is a dangerous game to play, but forgiveness takes courage that may just prove too difficult to reach.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this 13 December 2015

I recieved an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. I was intrgued by Andrew Calloway in the first book in this series, and was excited to read his story. Well I certainly was not dissappointed! This book is full of angst, love, passion, and a whole lot of HOT!
Nothing beats a hot rancher in love. 5 years after his highschool sweetheart, Amanda, leaves town with so much as a goodbye Andrew Calloway is still pining for her. When she returns to town after the death of her father, Andrew is hell bent on getting her back.
I loved that we got to get a little peek into the life of Cole and Jamie.
This could be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the first in the series first. They are both such fantastic reads you will not be able to put them down!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy & sweet...just go read it! 15 December 2015

These Calloway men are something else! What a gene pool! I have read both books in this series so far. You can read the books as a stand alone, but then you'd miss out on the awesomeness that is Cole in the first book. This book is steamy and romantic without any crazy unnecessary drama. The characters are lovable and realistic. Drew will make you swoon and at times make your toes curl. I look forward to seeing what's next from this author!
4.0 out of 5 stars Forgive Me 24 December 2015

I received an ARC courtesy of Hot Tree Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

Forgive Me by Kaithlin Shepherd is the 2nd book in the Callaway series. I enjoy reading stories about second chances at love, as such I was eager to read this installment.

It is a quick read, and I was able to complete it in a short space of time. It was moving and engaging. However, there were moments within the story where I was literally rolling my eyes. It was these eye rolling moments that prevented me from giving the story a higher rating.

Forgive Me tells the story of Andrew Callaway and Amanda Walters. Andrew and Amanda grew up together and were inseparable. They began dating when they were fifteen years old. They were very much in love. However, after graduating from high school, Amanda left Montana. She left to pursue her dream of becoming a Sous chef. However, her departure devastated Andrew, especially as she never told him goodbye. He became a shell of the man he once was. He tried moving past the pain and the hurt by engaging in self-destructive behaviour. However, no matter what he did, he could not purge Amanda from his mind and his heart. Five years have passed since that fateful day and Amanda has returned. Due to a personal tragedy, she was forced to return and will now have to face the man she had hurt.

Andrew is a handsome and sexy alpha male. He is dominant and possessive. However, he was not autocratic. Although he still loved Amanda he knew he had to tread cautiously. His biggest fear was that she would leave him again. However, despite that fear, he was determined that should she leave again, he would go after her. He was not about to lose her for a second time.

Amanda is strong, caring classy and loyal. Five years ago, she made a choice that would change her life. She sacrificed the love of her life to pursue her dreams. I understood why she felt she had to leave. Her leaving helped her to mature and to discover what was important in life. Now that she has returned home, she tried to distance herself from Andrew. However, this proved to be an impossible feat. Amanda had not forgiven herself as such, it was not easy for her to accept that Andrew and his family had forgiven her.

The story line was not unique. However, this did not stop me from enjoying the story. I loved the interaction between each of the characters. I enjoyed seeing how Andrew was willing to fight for his second chance with the love of his life. This was a steamy read. They could not get enough of each other. Every encounter between them was sizzling.

Earlier, I mentioned that there were moments in the story that had me rolling my eyes. I found Andrew’s obsession with Amanda’s ass tiresome. In addition, Amanda’s constant reference to Andrew’s hotness was over the top. There were so many references in this story that I lost count. Personally, I don’t believe that these aspects had to be mentioned so many times. It was already established so the numerous mentions were unnecessary.

I liked the twist the author threw in near the end. I knew that something would have happened to put a damper on the romance, but I did not expect this particular event. At this point in the story, my admiration for Amanda grew. Her actions demonstrated how loving someone means accepting everything about them.

Forgive Me is a story of family, friendships, healing and forgiveness. Overall, I found it an entertaining read, and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
4.0 out of 5 stars First Love is a forever love 20 December 2015

I've just finished this great book and I loved every second of it. Drew and Amanda's love story started when they were kids. Their families were friends so it was inevitable that Amanda would pick one of the handsome Callaway brothers. Unfortunately, life throws a curveball into their plans to spend forever together.

Amanda left Montana because she needed to find herself, but the kicker is, neither she or Drew ever stopped loving each other which of course results in different actions on both their parts. Drew being a man, goes to one extreme and Amanda to the other extreme. When Mandy has to come back to Montana, she does everything possible to avoid seeing the love of her life, but, it's taken out of her hands and they're forced to spend time together.... let the fireworks begin!!

Drew is bound and determined to get his girl back by whatever means necessary and let me tell you, he swept me right off my feet! As the pages turned and I experienced them dancing around each other and then connecting was worth the wait. And let me tell you, Drew has some serious moves, but don't discount Mandy and her insatiable sexual appetite....Wowza!!!!

There are of course some outside forces that have life changing results not only for Drew and Mandy but for the entire Callaway family. Then there's the little problem that's alluded to with Becca their baby sister. I just KNOW there's a story there and I have it on good authority, we're going to get this story...

Here's what I know, this was a well written book, I got more of Cole and Jamie, some steam up the windows sex between Drew and Mandy and I fell in love with a little girl named Lucy. I devoured this book in about 2 days so do yourself a favor and go 1-click this book.
4.0 out of 5 stars I have been a huge fan of series that center around a family and where each book tells a story of a member and their love story 21 December 2015

Kaithlin, you restored my faith in the Callaway series in Forgive Me!!!

I have been a huge fan of series that center around a family and where each book tells a story of a member and their love story for as long as I have been reading. When I read Make Me Whole, I was not sure if I would love the Callaway's because of the lack of depth that I felt with the characters. Forgive Me changed my option about this series.

Forgive Me focused on the love story between Andrew and Amanda. Drew and Amanda were high school sweethearts. Eventually Amanda leaves Montana to find who she is outside of a small town. Five years later an unexpected event brings Amanda back to Montana. She is forces to stay and wrap up some things in her personal world. She has thought about Drew every day and eventually has to face him. Both Amanda and Drew still feel the chemistry that they had when they were young. They just need to figure out how they are going to forgive each other and see if they have a future together.

This book was much more developed than Make Me Whole. It sucked me into the story line and it's characters. I look forward to more of the Callaway's and their love story. As the series continues, I hope to continue to see more depth to this family. They are a special family that will get into your heart.

Thank you Kaithlin for allowing me to read your work. What a joy it's been discovering your work.
