Crispin is an intriguing hero and you root for him but oh man... Jacinda is REALLY unlikable. She breaks into his home, reads his letters, snoops in his house while suffering from amnesia?! Why?? It is insanely rude and really doesn’t work for me. Her need to find “answers” is just double speak for a snosey AF woman who needs to mind her own business. I honestly don’t get why she feels entitled to everyone’s secrets/private lives. It bothered me a lot. It appears to be her only personality trait and it was unendingly annoying. A quote from Crispin sums her up perfectly: “Your curiosity seems more like a swarm of wasps, stinging repeatedly, without tiring.” The book is well written and I persevered to the end. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn’t mind a thoroughly unlikable heroine.

Vivienne Lorret should be on your author list for writing excellent HR romances that have wicked fun banter and sensual tension. The first in her new series, How to Forget a Duke, is a nice start to what is sure to be an enjoyable trilogy of the Bourne sisters. The sisters run a matchmaking service in London that caters to the haute ton, although their Viscount of an uncle is the front man because of course women don't "work". This matchmaking trilogy quotes Emma by Jane Austen throughout the book and each sister has a volume of Emma from their departed mother. They each seem to embody one of Emma's characteristics and the first sister, Jacinda, has her relentless persistence and inquisitiveness. This does not bode well for their most high profile client to date, the Duke of Rydstrom. Rydstrom has secrets that he doesn't want revealed in his pursuit of a wife. Jacinda cannot leave it alone however, and travels to Rydstrom's castle to get to the bottom of the matter. Unfortunately she has an accident on the way and wakes up near the property with amnesia and Rydstrom has no choice but allow her to stay in his home while she recovers.

This is a slow burn of a romance, but once the fire ignites, that's it, it's pretty hot. Rydstrom is extremely rigid and Jacinda is extremely impulsive so they are the epitome of opposites. It's actually funny how quickly he has her figured out and she really pushes his buttons. The process of her figuring herself out since she has no memory is good and the villagers add a nice hometown element to the story.

If I had a complaint it would be that Rydstrom's transformation was a bit abrupt. One moment he is practically growling at her and the next he is calling her darling. Not a big deal though but part of why this was a 4 star instead of 5.

Highly enjoyable read and looking forward to the other two sisters' stories.

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it! It made me look forward to reading more about Jacinda's sisters. I enjoyed the memory loss storyline as that's not something you get all the time. The book had lots of humor, which I love, especially at the beginning. When she was "investigating" him, Jacinda kept me laughing. I recommend to anyone who wants a love story that is romantic and funny.

This book was an absolute joy to read! I just adored Jacinda with her wonderfully endearing personality. It took me a little longer to like Crispin (and even longer to get used to his name; which made me think of fried chicken each time I read it). As the book progressed you got to see more of who he was inside and why he came across as somewhat cold. There were no real villains in this book and I kind of liked that. His aunt came across as one but even she wasn't as bad as we thought. Now I can't wait for Book Two to come out and learn all about Briar!
