I had high hopes for these Foot Petals shoes. Comfort mixed with fashion is important to me, especially since I've been coping with Achilles tendonitis the past few months. When it comes to fashion, these shoes did exceed expectations. They look better than they do in the photo and can easily be slipped on for leisure and recreational activities.
My go-to shoe has been the Hoka Clifton. That shoe is very cushioned with a super-thick midsole and a sculpted outsole that gives a smooth roll from impact to toe-off. This one seemed more flimsy by comparison and did not quite have the support I was looking for. It promises to "displace shock according to the unique pressures and shape of a woman's foot", but I didn't quite feel it. I'm a true size 8.5 medium, and for starters, I felt that it might have been better if I had gone with a size 9. Both my toes and the balls of my feet weren't quite hitting where they should. I did appreciate the Technogel heel cushion at heel strike, but wished that the heel in-pad was more cushioning. Bottom line: the shoe was good but for $140 in retail price, needs to be better.
