About the author

Felice Stevens has always been a romantic at heart. She believes that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending around the corner. Her characters have to work for it, because just like life in NYC, nothing comes easy and that includes love.
Felice is the 2020 Lambda Literary Award winning author in best Gay Romance. She lives in New York City and has way too much black in her wardrobe. If she's not writing, you'll probably find her watching reality TV or procrastinating on FB in her reader group, Felice's Breakfast Club.

It’s a beautiful story of love and redemption when Nate falls for Presley he’s everything he’s ever wanted and needed but Press also has a secret one that could goes against everything Nate believes in.
I loved these boys I smiled laughed and teared up hope we see more of them in the next book of the series .
Well done Felice Stevens.
A fast attraction for their first meeting between them. This took me a bit to unravel the first couple pages the way it was written. Coincidences popped up at the start and a lot of time jumps into the story. They where different Presley wants the cherished love where Nates wants to play around type of guy. A secret held by Presley is bound to cause problems.
Okay so I thought the timelines for their each bereavement was wearied. I usually love this authors books but I'm gonna pass on this one I just wasn't feeling it.
Presley needs to move on after the death of his friend 6 years ago. He joins a support group hopeful to help him move on.
Nate's first time at the group to help with bereavement for his father 3 years ago. (KU)

They meet at a grief counselling session which neither of them wanted to attend but when Presley was pushed by his best friend and Nate by his brother they naturally start falling for each other without every disclosing why either one is seeking grief counselling.
New York City men can be such uncommunicative idiots at times.
Like many other reviewers, I was not charmed by Nate for a while, and really didn't feel all that sorry for Presley, either. But then Nate became obsessive and Presley had to build a defensive wall in order to not repeat his major life mistake and things got, well, complicated.
But like all her eventual couplings, this one is helped along by author Stevens' exceptional insights into personalities and psyches of men like this. When these two finally confront themselves, and each other, with their secrets, the explosions are teeth grinding to say the least.
But you have to find out how they will survive, each other and life, and when you do the smile that always comes with a Felice Stevens' ending is on your face,

We all know what will happen once Presley tells Nate the truth. The build-up of emotions is managed wonderfully by the author, the angst is growing and I could see the train wreck around the corner, but I couldn't put the book down. Nothing is more thrilling than to yell at the protagonists to pull their heads out of their butts and turning the pages to find out who is the first to admit he was wrong and can't see his life without the other.
Triggers: adultery in the past, losing loved ones by accident or illness, friends and family calling out bulls**t when characters behaving mean and hurting each other.

Good MCs - I loved Presley from the very beginning, the tattooed antiques dealer with a sad past. I liked Nate, he could be arrogant and buttoned down but they proved to be a good match.
I enjoyed their meeting place and how they grew from there - sometimes it's nice to have caring, stubborn friends and family around you.
Presley's best friend Frisco was just fantastic, everyone should have such a loyal bestie.
Fool for Love is a good contemporary romance, one with engaging characters who mesh well. I knew what the issues would be pretty much from the get-go but the story was interesting and well written. The writing flowed so effortlessly. The characters worked for their happy ending... just the way I like it.
