As a food lover, i have always been open to try new foods. I've always wanted to know what categories and foods are best to eat for good health. There is just so much info out there. After listening to some of the recorded radio shows on The Doctor's Farmacy podcast, i was gobsmacked to learn how sinister the food industry and big food corporations are using sugar and grains and corrupting scientific studies and promoting their products to get our hard earned money. Dr. Mark Hyman, M.D. the functional health doctor peels back the layers of the onion and his motto of "food is healing" over all cultures is what has led me to buying this book. This book has low GI (glycemic index) recipes that you cook from scratch. It is for Pegans, Vegans, Paleo, Gluten-free and Dairy-free and contains recipes from different cultures. What's very important is that it tells to how to store your ingredients and spices in regards to their form and what quantities (and even shows you how asians buy butter in bulk when its on offer from the supermarket and turn it into ghee by sieving the lassi out for longer life and cost effectiveness). I recommend this book to anyone that is serious about their quality of life, their diet, health, and longevity.
