Daphne dreams of opening her own little coffee shop with a reading nook, but her hearts desire is her best friend Alfie. She’s a confident curvy girl who is everyone’s friend and knows that guys never look at her for anything but friendship. She has no idea how Alfie feels about her but she is about to take her heart in her hands and give to him, will he want it or will this ruin their friendship forever?
Alfie has been madly, totally and devotedly in love with Daphne for a long time, just before he was about to tell her his feelings his job caused him to live out of state for a few years and knew if he told her, he would never leave her. He’s back in town and this time he’s going to be honest about his love for her. Can he have it all or is he about to lose it all? He will never know unless he tells her.
These two were way cute and it’s a book to give you toothache but an excellent read with three epilogues. 4.5🌟
I started this book months ago but it was so unappealingly written that I put it down and thought maybe it’s me and if I give it time then when I come back to it I might enjoy it better. No. It’s not just me. This book was lousy. The characters were weak. The plot conflict was so stupid as to leave you confused as to why was this even an issue. The intimacy was so lackluster and so protracted while not at all being sexy or interesting or intense. It was just filler for a pointless story made even more so by the dull nooky.
This book failed at every point. The ridiculously pointless angst between the MC’s, the unimaginative plotting, the bland s e x scene (yes, singular). It was a complete waste of two days trying to finally finish this crappy book. On top of the months from when I first started to read this book until now that I made myself power through it.
I do have to say that this book has made me decide to give up on this author. I will not buy another book from her unless she has a coauthor, and honestly maybe not even then. The last year or so of her books have been so unsatisfying that I am done wasting my time and money. I really enjoyed this authors smutty angstiness from her earlier products, especially the “Real Man’s” series up to about book 15 or so, but now, I can’t stomach her material anymore. I will be unfollowing her on Amazon. I still have a ton of her books to read because I liked her enough for her to be a one click purchase but I can’t do it anymore. She has fallen so far off her game that I am not trying to come back to her.
Sorry Ms. Snow. I’m done. Goodbye.
Their love has the foundation of being best friends for years. They already knew each other so well. This story was laid out so beautifully.
