In this avant garde novella, memory and time are subjective. A writer named Ge Fei retreats to the beautiful solitude of the Waterside to finish his novel inspired by the Revelations of St. John.
About the Author
Ge Fei is one of China's foremost writers of experimental fiction and currently serves as Professor of Literature at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Frequently referred to as the 'Chinese Borges', he is a seminal figure of the 1980s era of literary and artistic revival. He is the winner of the 2014 Lu Xun Literary Prize for Fiction and the 2015 Mao Dun Literary Prize.

I've recommended his books to friends who can't get into him23 December 2016 - Published on Amazon.com
You either get Ge Fei or you don't. I've recommended his books to friends who can't get into him, but I read him as hilarious. Yet serious at the same time. My kind of author. Obviously not for everyone.

A great story26 August 2018 - Published on Amazon.com
Just got it and I am pleased.
This is a wonderful book—surreal, absurd9 February 2017 - Published on Amazon.com
This is a wonderful book—surreal, absurd, dreamlike. But please note: it's a short book, very short; Flock of Brown Birds is really a long short story. The publisher has the book listed here at 96 pages. I'm looking at the book I borrowed from the library right now—same edition—its 49 pages in length. That's awfully short for the price: $9.95. It's a wonderful book, but not worth the wonder at that price.

A single short story, a quick read22 November 2018 - Published on Amazon.com
Wonderful writing but a very short book, only 49 pages and not - as also mentioned in another review - the 98 pages listed by the publisher. This is a ‘short story’ and can hardly even be considered a novella. What was Penquin thinking? 98 pages?
