Mr. Perfect has found his kind of trouble...
Professional hockey player Zac Elliott is in top form. He's having the best season of his career, the local fans can't get enough of him, and he's in the middle of the most successful contract negotiations of his career. When the sexy little spark between Zac and the team owner's daughter blazes to life, no matter how forbidden, he can't resist.
Philanthropist Heather Ryan can't keep her hands off of Zac. If her father finds out, it could end Zac's career and ruin her reputation. What they share is deeply passionate and intensely private...until the press exposes their illicit relationship.
Now the fans have viciously turned against Heather, Zac's game is faltering, and even his team has deserted him. The only way out of the penalty box is for Zac to play hockey like life--and love--depends on it...

A sure way to throw your hockey career off the rails is to fall for the owners daughter! That's exactly what happens to Zac Elliott when he falls hard and fast for Heather Ryan. He knows messing with her is strictly forbidden but his heart never got the memo.

This was a fun, quick read that was a perfect combination of angst and romance. Definitely one I would recommend.

Hockey player Zac Elliott is a truly nice guy. He is attracted to Heather Ryan and she feels the same. They are perfect for each other. There is just one problem, her father own the hockey team and Zac is their star player. The uproar is dangerous and destructive to their romance. Can love triumph? Zac is such a charming and compassionate hero. He's a wonderful lover and a true gentleman. Heather is a beautiful woman with a caring heart. She wants to help others succeed. Their romance tugged at my heart. I hated they way people reacted to their dating. The Atlantic City Hustlers provided a great backdrop. The team had some interesting characters that I would love to know more about. The action on the ice and the snappy dialogue captured my interest. I rejoiced when the person responsible for leaking the information was found and got his comeuppance. Flirting on Ice had it all. There was a great romance, true love and plenty of action. Veronica Forand and Susan Scott Shelley did a wonderful job. I loved this well-written drama. It kept me entertained and left me wanting more.

Flirting On Ice is about a forbidden romance between NHL player Zac Elliott and the team owner's daughter, Heather Ryan. The pair have been eyeing each other for months, but the owner forbids any player from dating his daughter and Heather doesn't want to do anything that could jeopardise Zac's chances of signing with the team again at the end of his contract. But true love and passion can't be denied and the pair stop fighting their connection.

Of course, what's a love story without a little drama. Their relationship gets leaked to the media and the pair pull away from each other: Zac to protect her reputation and Heather to protect his career.

There were a couple of parts that rubbed me up the wrong way. One was the public's actions towards Heather, especially the one that went physical. I just can't picture that happening in real life and because of that, that particular scene came off as unbelievable to me. The second was Zac's teammates and how they turned their backs on him because of his relationship with Heather. I expected some warnings yet overall support, not the violent reactions he endured.

Other than that, I really liked this novella. Zac and Heather are both very giving people and their connection is hot. I really felt for Heather once she started being the victim of online bullying, and her breakdown over that was sad and believable in this day and age. And Zac's attempt at winner Heather back was gutsy and romantic.

Book 2 (Dangerous Play) comes out in May and you can bet I'll be buying it up quick smart.

Zac: "So, what do you want for Christmas?"

Heather: You and a room full of mistletoe.

Flirting On Ice is the first book in the Atlantic City Hustlers series by Veronica Forand and Susan Scott Shelley for Entangled Publishing's Lovestruck imprint. It's a short magnetic read about a professional hockey player who has the hots for the owner's daughter, and vice versa.

I enjoyed this story and the characters a lot. It was a quick, well-written romance read that flowed easily and seemed natural and honest to the characters and their story. I liked Zac and Heather together, and I rooted for them to overcome the obstacles in their way. I do think they should have told everyone to kiss their tails a lot sooner, but I also understand the huge stakes involved concerning both their careers and their reputations.

If you like short, fun, but also slightly angsty romance reads, Flirting On Ice is terrific story and makes for a great weekend read.
