Ordered for a 3 section wine cooler I am building
Wanted lights that I could hide behind inside trim around the three doors.
Looked almost everywhere and nothing, until I found these lights on amazon.
Actually easier to install and work better than anticipated.
Dim to the exact brightness I need.
So if a 10 star rating was available I would have given the 10.
Will for sure order again when more "hidden lights" needed

TL/DR : If you don't believe me, find a way to connect a 9V battery to where you taste things.

2 Stars ONLY because the product works as intended, and it's my fault for not paying closer attention to the assembly of the strip. There is no rubber/plastic coating over the strip like some of the other products available for $3-5 more.

From an electrical safety standpoint, I can't recommend you use these around water or where children can reach them due to the exposed nature of the contacts. Yes, it's only 12V, but the power adapter can put out up to 2 Amps, which is the dangerous part if you're not aware. NEVER rely on a surge protector, circuit breaker, GFI, or fuse to protect you from electricity, these devices stop fires, not save lives.

If you're like me, slapping some electrical tape (liquid or on a roll) over the contacts (covering the led's renders the strip useless) will seal it just fine and make the strip a little more safe for use in a more robust range of applications, but, that's still not as good as having the coating over the whole strip and sealed on both ends.

For those who think I'm going overboard, this strip would NOT be allowed on a Navy ship due to the exposed contacts on the strip.

I'm honestly disappointed this was so easy to find, I think it should be tucked away in a back corner with the hobby/enthusiast stuff, at least then it's not readily available to a person who's electrical safety knowledge consists of "don't stick a knife in the outlet".

This was a great value. I just moved into an old farmhouse and needed a way to have some lighting in the kitchen and I found this and decide to pull the trigger. Super simple to install I did it in literally 3 minutes. I've got the soft white and the dimming is nice I feel that if you're looking for a cost efficient, energy efficient way of lighting up in area then this might be your answer. Buy with confidence.

I am very happy with this product! I installed it under the kitchen wall cabinets in my apartment, and they provide much-needed illumination to the countertop. I was able to snake the strip around the top of the microwave and it turned out the length was perfect, ending at the end of the last cabinet. I mounted the dimmer switch under the cabinet near the outlet, wrapping the generous cable around a pair of nails driven into the cabinet bottom.
My only (small) complaint is that the dimmer dial is very smooth and somewhat difficult to turn...it needs ridges or something so it's "grippier," I could glue a circle of 220-grit sandpaper to the knob to make it easier toturn on and off or dim.
OK, so here's what I learned from this. If you are going to do a similar installation, I would caution you to NOT install the strip too close to the bottom front lip of the cabinets! I did this, concerned that I didn't want the strip to "show." but that 3/4" lip blocks the light from the front 8" of countertop. So, adjust the distance from the cabinet lip about 1 1/2" back so that the strip illuminates the entire countertop (but not the floor!).

I would buy this product again, it was everything I imagined and it provides great light to the countertop. I dim it down in the evening to provide soft light in the kitchen, it looks great!

I've seen a lot of LED lights that my friends had I wanted something really simple that was easy to apply easy to operate just had one color in a soft white so no triggers for migraine activity. I didn't really know exactly what I was ordering until I check it out and applied it it was so easy it only took a few minutes and it was perfect to light up my staircase it's a very beautiful area so we wanted to accentuate it like when people came over but I needed some lighting I also have a older service dog is starting to not see very well at night so I wanted to make sure that I had some lighting but she could see the steps well these are absolutely perfect and I ordered two more for now I just hope they last a long. Of time because they're absolutely perfect for me. I have one of the photos with the highest brightest light and then I have a lower dim light photo. I'm very happy with this product and like I said the only thing is I hope that it lasts so long. Of time I'm unfamiliar with this type of lighting strips so I don't know what the average lifespan is
