When you read the description of the book your first instinct is that Sarah's dad is dangerous when in fact it is james who is far more dangerous that their father. Although Sarah's father abuses her physically, james abuses her mentally, never letting her live life like a normal 18 year old, keeping her locked away in her room, never allowed to make friend or even say the word dating in front of her brother.
At times the story confused me because it would be obvious that james had began seeing Sarah as more than a sister although Sarah reacts naive to the whole situation. The story is very interesting, worth the money aswell. Although I cannot reveal the ending as it would ruin the whole point of purchasing the story I would say you're in for a shock.if you think it's a happy ending .......
I will say it's a fantastic written book but very hard to read due to the subject. The characters were brilliant. You will need the tissues
i found myself pulled in emotionally but...
i like the characters to much(i know this shouldnt be a bad thing)but without trying to spoil it i didnt like how ended.i could see where it was going and understand how james got to be where he was but i liked him and wanted to see him happy.i feel his story was lost,i think he deserved a nicer ending and loving.sarah and sam i liked and again would have been nice if different result.i know things arent ideal and probably couldnt work that way and be the same.i like books that push the boundaries but as i said i like the characters to much and james especially i came away sad wishing he'd had that love he needed and deserved.
so might sound neagtive but i did like it and would reccommend it you'll get pulled into the book
