Product description

From the Publisher

GEORGIA MURCH has over 20 years' experience working with public and private organisations. She has worked in consulting, designing and facilitating leadership and culture change as well as with customer-focused programs.

From the Inside Flap

We all want to communicate effectively, but this intent doesn't always translate into action. We avoid giving feedback or handle it poorly when it is given to us. Endless training programs are not enough.

There is a better way.

In Fixing Feedback, Georgia Murch outlines a refreshingly candid and easy to follow process that encourages the effective give-and-take of highly productive feedback. Once your people and organisation adopts this approach, it will create a cultural shift that fosters a climate of engagement and productivity.

This feedback bible shows you:

  • what gets in the way of becoming a remarkable communicator
  • how to better understand the impact that you have when communicating
  • tools and techniques to give and receive feedback well
  • our unhelpful thinking patterns and how to re-set them
  • how to create a culture of feedback that becomes the norm.

Fixing Feedback offers a pragmatic roadmap for creating outstanding communicators and remarkable organisations.

Obsessed about how people talk to each other and themselves, Georgia helps people find their inner ‘flawsome’ and teams and organisations become feedback cultures. Where they can build trust and respect through conversations, not damage it.

Working with public and private clients for over 25 years, leading teams and businesses, designing and facilitating culture change and leadership programs means she's done the miles. This deep experience means she truly appreciates the diversity and challenge of workforces and understands the complexity of managing a business while leading change.

She describes herself as a ‘corporate hippie’. She’s quirky and down to earth and believes that to really connect with others, and yourself, you need to be real.

She has featured in Sky Business, The Today Show, The Daily Edition, AFR, BRW, News.com, Huffington Post, The Age, Sydney Morning Herald, Modern Business and Qantas Radio.

Georgia puts passion on a podium. A remarkable communicator in her own right, she is an inspiring speaker that challenges audiences to become better versions of themselves, their workplaces and their homes. She now runs retreats and programs for those that want to grow themselves and their leadership. She also works with those savvy, fast-paced organisations and leaders, or those that aspire to be, to help them grow engagement, get things done and create super successful businesses.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is totally a fun book to read
Reviewed in the United States on 6 July 2017
This is totally a fun book to read. I love the author sense of humor and the way she describes everything. Super detailed, and yes! It has happened to me too to find "dicks" as she calls people who won't communicate properly, who think are superior than you, are pushy and don't make the best decisions.

I consider Fixing Feedback is a great title for this book after all. It's not boring at all, and it really gets you to the point. It basically tells you to be remarkable, and it gives you a couple of ideas and concepts of how to be a remarkable person, making everything easier.

Georgia Murch, in my opinion has a very open way of communication and that is a great thing. I laughed and smiled while reading this book for all the hilarious comments she makes and you say, yes, this happened to me too. Or, yes, I know exactly who she is talking about. Because we have all had that person around. Maybe, it's ourselves sometimes. I'm sure I am not a "dick person", but I'm making sure not to be one of them.

Something that she said make me complete. She wrote "Everyone works with someone. Everyone collaborates with someone. Everyone communicates with someone. We are all leaders. We just don't always see it that way". This is so true. We, I mean all of us, need to be remarkable and work in team to success. If we all communicate properly, and with respect, give our ideas and receive others without complaining or arguing this world will be so much better. It's ideal. The point is how we say it, how our attitude is, and how we respond.

At the end of each chapter you find a section called "Your cheat Sheet" where you review all the most relevant points learned on each chapter.

I do recommend getting this book and I'm sure you will finish it in less than a week. I am very likely to read it again. You won't only put this in practice at work, but at home, with your husband, kids, friends, neighbors. This is totally a must read!
