Product Description

Uncovering this sexy geek’s charm is easy. Keeping her hands off of him is impossible.

While he may look like the love child of a movie starlet and an NFL linebacker, Ben Langley has the people skills of a half-drowned porcupine. Why socialize when there are chemistry labs and bad sci-fi flicks? If he has any hope of taking the helm as CEO of the family business, Ben needs an image makeover. Pronto.

Enter Holly Colvin, owner of First Impressions public relations and branding firm, and the woman who just saved Ben from the clutches of an over-attentive sales clerk. Holly’s rebranded hundreds of companies in her career, but she’s never rebranded a person. The guy clearly needs help, though, and she’s just the woman for the job.

With the clock ticking for them both, Holly and Ben face off over wardrobe malfunctions and business jargon that sounds a lot sexier than it should. But can Holly make Ben into the man he thinks he should be without losing the man she’s starting to love?

Who doesn't love a hot geek? Poor Ben starts off with no clue but it doesn't take him long to get the sexy going after a chance meeting in a furniture store with his "wife" Holly. I loved the way she bailed him out with the overly flirty saleswoman. Maybe it wouldn't happen in real life (unless your lucky) but this is fiction and anything is possible.
Then there's Ben and Holly's flirty banter, where you wonder if Ben knows what he's doing or not. I loved him anyway, from his Star Wars movie date to his oral skills. Holly never stood a chance. She tries to resist but it's futile, they need each other.
Of course one of my favourite parts is when Ben sticks it to his old man, Ben knows what he wants and finally he's not afraid to go for it. He'll CEO in his own way, and have the life he wants not the one Lyle expects him too.

After She saves Him from a hunting sales woman, they develop a professional and increasingly romantic personal involvement. After some hiccoughs, all ends well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful! 21 July 2016

This story really deserved less than a star, but I couldn't warn people away without posting at least one star. The premise of the story, that of a male who needs to go through an "ugly duckling " transition seemed interesting. The "story" was actually a long drawn out conversation of puerile sexual comments between the hero and the heroine that were supposed to be witty sexual double entendres . The heroine, mind you, is supposed to be a polished professional with her own successful business, and the hero was the CEO of a multimillion dollar corporation. Horrible. When the heroine wasn't commenting about the "stiffness" of the hero, she was obsessing bitterly about her ex-husband. I could see why the ex would divorce her; I couldn't stand her either. I just couldn't see why the supposedly brilliant CEO nerd couldn't form two coherent sentences, and only needed wardrobe help. Even if this book is free, it isn't worth the download.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent love story by author Tawna Fenske 22 June 2016

An excellent love story by author Tawna Fenske, that should not be overlooked. Combined with chuckles, tear jerking moments, this is one book that will be impossible to put down..............Determined to make her business a success, Holly Colvin couldn't believe that she had just made out with a gorgeous stranger in a furniture store. At first, she thought she was helping him out with a awkward situation involving the store clerk, but when he pulled her into his arms and kissed her so passionately, she almost fainted from the sheer joy of it but after her jerk of an ex-husband, Holly also knew a man was the last thing she needed. Holly owned her own business, which was a public relations firm and since her husband at the time, insisted she give it up she totally refused and made it a huge success, and continued on with her career and her life, or so she thought. Her only major problem now, was that her ex was beginning to create problems for her financially and if she didn't come up with a way soon, she could easily lose her business, self-respect, career, and anything meaningful in her life. CEO of Langley Enterprises, Ben Langley felt out of place being the new CEO. His first love was in engineering. His IQ was phenomenal, to the point, that he went to college at the age of sixteen-years old and graduated in three years. But after his father handed over the reins for Ben to be the new CEO, he also knew that he had to change his old ways. For instance, his clothes, his hair style, the whole nine yards. He also couldn't forget that hot searing kiss he shared with Holly Colvin at the furniture store, or how much he wanted to kiss her again, so, he decided to hire her for a little rebranding, so to speak, to pick out his clothes, teach him how to speak to the other executives, plus the employees, and the proper etiquette, then maybe, just maybe, he would have a second chance to get to know her a little better. Sounds like a plan, right? When Ben Langley offered Holly triple the salary to rebrand his image, Holly jumped at the chance to make more money because her business needed it desperately, but the moment she started to work with Ben, she never figured that she would ever feel any chemistry or the physical attraction towards him, but she did immensely. The more and more time they spent together, the worse it got, and she only prayed that things wouldn't go overboard. However, events became steamier and with all intents and purposes, as much as they tried, their hearts got broken. Will true love be able to mend their broken hearts, or is it over, before it even got started?............I enjoyed this book so much.....thank you
3.0 out of 5 stars 2 ½ stars. The first third was great. The second half dragged. But it’s ok if you’re in the mood for contemporary romance. 14 April 2017

I enjoyed how they met and started out. I did not like the reason for the separation. See Spoiler.

Ben is a super smart geek who needs to learn people skills for his job. He hires Holly to help him. She owns a public relations firm.

I really enjoyed “Making Waves” by this author.

The reason for the separation: She said she did not care for him and had never cared for him, but that wasn’t true.

Narrative mode: 3rd person. Story length: 212. Swearing language: strong including religious swear words but not often used. Sexual language: moderate to strong. Number of sex scenes: about 4. Setting: current day probably U.S. Copyright: 2015. Genre: contemporary romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nerds can be sexy too 19 December 2015

Tawna has done it again. She’s created another amazing fun loving story with two characters you’d love to meet. (Well I know a few funny geeks) While all her stories have smart men and women this one goes to a whole new level.

Meet Ben, he looks like he should be on the silver screen and yet he’s build like an NFL Linebacker, what’s not to love so far. However, here’s the kicker he’s the sweeties guy I think we’ve met from Tawna. This beast of a man is a total geek. He loves bad sci-fi movies and would prefer to stay in his lab.

Let a few “geeks” I know Ben doesn’t want to be in the spot light, yet he is taking over as CEO of the family company. His father, a womanizing ass, wants to change Ben into his image.

Ben, can’t stand his father and the thought of being anything like him turns his stomach.

Holly, is a business minded, smart sexy woman who’s more like the girl next door. She owns her own PR firm and after a chance meeting with Ben she starts working with him to become the best CEO he can be.

The only problem (not really a problem) the chemistry between this two is off the charts from the beginning. And after Holly’s failed marriage she’s a bit gun shy when it comes to Ben. Not to mention he is her client.

As Holly tries to pull away from the connection she feels for Ben, Ben does the opposite. Yet he works her down as only a true “geek” with bad sci-fi movie dates, over the phone Star Wars movie dates, popcorn, and root beer floats all while making flirty sexual innuendo’s that don’t always have to do with sex.

Of course, as with all of Tawna’s stories you will giggle, smile, chuckle and laugh your ass off. She just has a way with words. Find out how she spins Ben and Holly’s story, how they fall in love. And all the flips along the way. This is what happens when you mix business with pleasure.
