5 second Rainbird was the perfect title for Vic's story, you'll know why after the prologue, there was always the air of mystery to Vic from the Unyielding series, we waited paciently for his story and Nashoda does not dissapoint. Vic's story isn't pretty, he's the man you never want to meet in a dark alley, the ultimate warrior, protector and just all around badass. Until he comes home to find his Rainbird in his cabin, he can't have her their his demon's are always there and he'd never hurt his Rainbird. You'll love Vic and macayla's story and I can't wait for the rest of the Underground Horseman Seriers it's going to be amazing, thanks Nashoda for another outstanding read and series.

Five second Rainbird has been a book worth the wait. I got so excited when I saw this book was coming out, Nashoda Rose is an amazing author and her books draw you in, they are extremely easy to get lost in. Vic and Macayla are beautiful together. Vic had a hard life and when he was twelve he lost something that destroyed his world. Then a five year old girl that talked too much gave him something he desperately needed peace and no pain.
Definitely a book that you should read. Highly recommended just like all her books before. Grab a copy you will be happy you did.

I have been waiting years and years and years to find out what was behind the stoic exterior of Vic Gate. All through the Tear Asunder books and Unyielding Riot series, we kept getting glimpses of him and now that I know, it just makes me love Vic all the more.

All of Nashoda Rose’s books are filled with heartbreak, dark subject matter & on the flip side, sweetness and steam. The life long journey between Vic, who has a haunted past that had made him the embodiment of ice and Macayla, the only person in his life that makes him feel the warmth, had me swooning, tearing up, gasping & smiling.

You can definitely read this book without reading the Tear Asunder & Unyielding Riot series, but they do mention previous characters and their is explicit potential for crossover.

I would have been perfectly elated if this book was nothing but Vic and Macayla’s story, but the fact that we have been set up for all the supporting characters, with book 2 in the Underground Horsemen Series already slated for release later in the year, I’m positively ECSTATIC 😝

I am eagerly awaiting the next instalment & I already know I’m going to love it 💗

She is his reward. Vic Gates may never have forgotten the little girl or her random act of kindness, but the grown version of her terrifies him. It's ironic since the lethal ex Special Forces, is no match for this woman who owns his heart.

Macayla is trying to fix the broken pieces for her child Jackson. The son who she's just gotten back and is riddled with trauma. Having taken refuge in Vic's cabin, the man himself is ropeable when he comes home and finds them there. His first instincts are to have them gone.

But in this instance where like recognizes like, Vic knows personal demons intimately. And as he gets to know Macayla and Jackson, his possessiveness becomes full blown and he's struggling to let them go.

5 Second Rainbird is an emotional story that switches from past to present and deals with many delicate topics such as abuse and neglect. It was certainly gut-wrenching in parts but watching the relationship between Vic and Jackson unfold was beautiful. Plus this author excels at writing old school overprotective heroes that you can't help but swoon over.

My issues were the wordy dialogues that dragged out the pace of the story and the lack of any real romance between Vic and Macayla. Also, this is evidently the first book for the Underground Horsemen, I was a little overwhelmed with all the characters introduced. I loved the premise and the feels of the story but it was just too slow paced for me.

Five second Rainbird is the first book in this new series and a spin off from Tear Asunder and Unyielding series and all I can say is it was worth the wait😍

When I first started reading, this book enveloped me and I felt like I’d finally come home😁 I could not put it down even though I wanted to savour the book, it soon became clear that Vic Gate was intense and complicated and he was going to devour me whole, much like I did with his story😉

I’m soooo excited for this new series and I can’t wait to learn more about the other Horsemen and other stories that can come from this one as there are a few hints to other stories throughout that I know will blow our minds. Loved Macayla, Vic and Jackson and I look forward to seeing them again in the future. I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️

Well what can I say only I loved every bit of this story and I am so glad Vic Hate reviled himself. He is a tortured man beginning from when he was young and something tragic happened to him but a little bit of sunshine shone on him in the form of this beautiful little girl and this started his love for Mac. From this traffic beginning he would have been part of the Horsemen and joining the organization with Dec and the lads. Mac has her own heart ache too and has only gotten her son back. She's getting her strength and her courage back. I loved her with vic they're a great couple loving strong and give each other strenght to over come and move on together.Jackson was a joy he's funny and I fell in love with him. We get to meet the other men of the the Horsemen and am looking forward to their stories.

Amazing! I have waited patiently for another book from Nashoda as I love her books. This was worth the wait and them some. A really beautiful story Vic was so special I loved everything about him. Macayla and Jackson were perfect for him. The rest of the underground horseman have left me wanting more!! I can’t wait to read about Callum, Saint and co. 4.5 stars. First things first, this was fantastic and I loved having another Nashoda Rose book to read. Victor Gate, who has always been on the periphery of the other books and a bit of a mystery man is now the central focus of this story. I always wondered what kind of woman would bring out the heat from underneath his outer frost and Macayla North brings all of that to the surface. Like the other guys on the team, Vic has a past that has colored him and keeps him from developing any close connections. What he does for a living cannot be painted in any way to suggest he is a savior and Vic won't apologize for it. He is who he is and he's incredibly good at it. With his highly trained skills, he is used to waiting out the enemy, withstanding extreme conditions and running towards danger. What he is not accustomed to is feeling anything beyond a mild affection for anyone and will bury those sentiments so they cannot control his actions.

Macayla is trying to start over life on her own terms and with her own baggage, so while Vic is less than welcoming of her renting out his cabin, he is also vigilant and watchful over her. This rigid and damaged guy who speaks in brief phases and values his privacy isn't particularly friendly to anyone, given how he is always on edge and suspicious of everyone. What Macayla doesn't know is that she doesn't have to do anything specific to gain his attention, yet she has it regardless.

I loved watching Vic slowly let his walls down. Once he goes all in, he fully commits himself. Macayla may not be closed off like Vic, but she is undoubtedly strong in the way she handles herself and the situation around her. I liked how her softness offset Vic's hardness, but was exactly what he needed. Their chemistry was off the charts with a sweet and tender side, too. The action and suspense was page turning and keeping me on the edge of my seat with engaging side plots. There's an interesting motley crew of side characters introduced, hopefully to star in their own stories someday.

I counted the days and on release day; I was all over this! After reading both the TEAR ASUNDER and VUR series; there was zero chance I'd miss Vic's story. I liked all the characters and thought Vic and Macayla were a good pairing and I definitely didn't see that twist coming. I appreciated getting Vic's back story. It was necessary in order to fully understand why he was the way he was and did the things he did. My only issue, and its probably just me, but I had a hard time finding a "voice" that fit Vic. This is a tough guy, he survived a terrible childhood, served in the military, not to mention, Special Forces and now, in the private sector, deals with some of the worst people known to mankind. I get that he was a man of few words and who kept to himself, but sometimes he sounded almost Neanderthal like, and in my mind, this is a man that's part of a highly trained and intelligent tactical team that operate with dangerous people and are required to think "out of the box" and fast on their feet. So, sometimes it was awkward that, that Vic's voice didn't fit with the way he spoke. Like I said, its probably just me, so take it with a grain of salt. Beyond that, I can't wait to read about the rest of the guys.
