The Story Of Thomas & Friends
Thomas is the No. 1 blue engine. He is a cheeky little engine who often gets into scrapes, usually by being over-eager to do things best left to bigger and more sensible engines.
But clouds never last long in Thomas’ world and soon he’s bustling about again, playing his part in the yard and on his very own branch line. Thomas works hard and he always strives to be a 'Really Useful Engine.'
Really Useful and Really Unique!

With over 80 Minis engines to collect, Thomas & Friends Minis from Fisher-Price completely reimagine the Island of Sodor with never-before-seen themes. The engines get stuck in the spiral elevator a lot and the hand crank takes is on the opposite side of the toy from where all the action is. My son literally has to reach over to the crank side, while holding the entire thing down so that cranking doesn't flip the entire thing over only to not be able to see whats going on on the side that they are coming out. Not to mention the frustration of the trains latching together and/or getting stuck in the spiral and literally having to work at getting the damned thing unstuck. Terrible, terrible design.
To my surprise, this actually works as intended. We’ve had very few problems with the trains getting stuck in the spiral elevator. If they are positioned correctly the first time, you can just keep turning the crank and they’ll go down the track all day long. My son will occasionally need help with the crank as he may go too fast causing a traffic jam, but other than that he can play with this by himself. He loves to turn the lever to choose which track the trains take and laughs every time they go upside down.
My son is all boy, and he can be a little rough on his toys, but we’ve had no problems with this coming apart. It’s actually pretty solid, and we’ve not had the “feet” come off like others have mentioned.
All in all, this was a great purchase!!
There are two different paths the trains can take, and surprisingly the stunt track where they go upside down works flawlessly. My son is 2.5 and can mostly use this independently. The spiral crank works pretty well, we’ve had a few rogue trains that got stuck but it usually turns easily.
This is a great option to use those minis!
It's manually operated, so no batteries needed.
