It was ok ..... To much of the book was about how he was going to things ( to much detail) it needed more action to keep you wanting to keep reading .

Don't Trust the Wimmin'
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 April 2012Verified Purchase
... in fact don't trust anyone but yourself. Even when he does that, Nick Stone still finds himself up to his neck in the brown stuff. It seems to be a recurring theme that the female characters have their own agenda and can't be trusted. Perhaps it might be different in the next book. This book also has an incident on an Estonian ferry, which is unexpected and also unexplained which makes it seem a bit disjointed like a loose thread.
That apart, this book goes along at a good pace with a few twists and turns along the way and keeps your attention to the end. Nick Stone survives by improvising as he goes along. There isn't always a few pounds of semtex or an SMG lying around when you need it, so if you can't improvise you can't do the job and you die. Nick can improvise and knows what he needs to do to win fights, then does it. That's what keeps him alive when most of us wouldn't stand a chance. It isn't always pretty. Thankfully there aren't any pictures other than the one drawn in your head. At least you can tone it down a bit so that it's not so graphic. Nick certainly won't be winning any beauty contests by the end of the book, but you should see the other guy!!

Soldier with Heart!

Fiction it is but it still feels like it could be true, Kelly is in a bad place just hope Nick can help her & him to get them back on an even keel. Tom was never going to make it! but Stone still thought of him at the end of the book, British soldier still the best in the world.

Not sure

This was relentless in its survivalist violence disappointment and misery. The ingenuity was intriguing but to have no reward could anyone survive such hopelessness even in the ending? Really wasn't sure about this one.
