I am so happy that I read this book. It was a great mix of suspense, romance, danger, and humor. I had tears in my eyes at times and other times, I was laughing at the sassiness of Savannah. For a woman who was beaten down, both literally and figuratively, she is able to find herself and again and come out stronger, smarter, and still full of love. The twists in this story were surprising, but interesting. I loved how Savannah and Nick were able to bring each other out of their darkness to find life again and to be able to carry on their lives. I give this book a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy reading stories about MC s, Ex-Military men, men who uphold the law, and women who regain their strength, humor, and lives after tragic events in their lives and after bad relationships find them in trouble. There was really so much more to this story, but to avoid spoilers, I don t want to say too much about it other than you really should buy it and read it. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series to come out, Blurred Line.
I just loved so much about this book. Karen and Spencer are great characters and they fit so well with Savannah and Nick.
Fine Line by AD Justice is the first book in the Crossing Lines series and OMGGGGGGG it was phenomenal! This story was everything I thought it would be and so much more. I have been a long time fan of Ms. Justice and I seriously devour everything she writes. The way she is able to weave a tale and make you feel everything is absolutely one of my favorite things about her books. Fine Line is full of suspense, heartache, and forgiveness. I could not put it down. --Amazon Reviewer

It had so much in it.
Can't wait to read the others in the Crossing Lines series.
*coughs, clears throat*
Now that I have your attention, I want to say something others will probably boo at me for. Do not, I repeat do not go in blind. If you are like me and love interconnecting stories or characters that pop up from elsewhere, you must read The Steele Security books first. The love, camaraderie, and background is worth any grumbling you might do when you see there are 5 books in the series. Because I guarantee you will fall in love with the entire gang, I am begging you to read them first. I want you to see where Silas and the gang hail from. It will make you fall so much harder.
*steps off soapbox*
Okay, if you have ignored my above rant, I guess I will just have to live with that. *shakes head in dismay* You will not be lost in this story. I just wanted to show you some extra lovin'. *sigh* Yes, I will get over it. Give me a minute!
*clears throat again*
Fine Line starts at a crossroads. A life changing crossroad. Each direction represents a different kind of life. As time passes, regrets, shame, and self loathing take over. But a chance encounter changes everything, whether or not they are prepared for it.
Nick and Savannah are dancing along a line. Each has a decision to make...again. It's a Fine Line and the results are devastating.
Enjoy the ride because it's about to get bumpy!
So things I liked:
I liked Nick, he was the tortured hero, good guy DEA agent, coming out of what was probably a really hard two year undercover investigation with a truly terrible biker gang. I liked that he had doubts about himself, that he wasn’t able to just shed everything he witnessed. I liked that he had his own code he stuck to. I liked that he was really there for Savannah no matter what was going on. And when she asked for space he gave it even though he didn’t want to, that part I LOVED. Savannah was okay, I liked that she was in the middle of pulling herself up out of a bad situation when the book starts. I also liked that she wanted to help other women who were in similar abusive situations to her. The storyline itself was interesting, the abusive ex, the motorcycle gang, the kind of sting operation, it had a lot of potential.
Now for the things I didn’t like:
I didn’t like that Nick and Savannah fell in love in like seconds. Okay it was more than seconds. Honestly they knew each other for a while, but as soon as they crossed that line it was like days before they were declaring their love. And honestly, that doesn’t always bother me as long as it feels organic, this felt rushed, it didn’t feel authentic. The story had a certain pacing until like the halfway to 2/3 mark, and then something shifted. It felt like the author needed to make everything happen faster and more dramatic, but without the say build up as it had before. Because of that it felt rush and someone over the top instead of like a natural progression. If it hadn’t been for that it would have been a 4 star for me.
Fine Line will catch you from the beginning and stay with you until the end. A very good read, a touch of suspense and romance. I recommend this book to everyone, the romance scenes are not bad at all.
This is the first book I read from this author and I am looking forward to reading the next in the series.
This story grabbed me right from the start and held me hostage until the end. This book touched on some tuff subjects and the characters faced some difficult decisions but in the end these two beautiful people came out on top, tackled their demons and found love.
