Product Description

A larger-than-life firefighter inspires a career-driven woman to live in the moment—and trust in the power of love—in this flirty, emotional novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Searching for Harmony.

Finn Ward has two passions: being a firefighter and being single. Although his parents are constantly nagging him to settle down, Finn just wants to enjoy himself while he’s young. Then, at a union meeting, he meets a gorgeous lawyer with a dazzling smile—and suddenly, settling down doesn’t sound so bad.

Rory Adams is fresh out of law school and looking to make a name for herself at her mother’s firm. She doesn’t have time for silly games anymore. But when she catches the eye of a dashing fireman who makes her body tingle from across the room, something instantly ignites between them. The only problem? Her father is Finn’s boss.

Their relationship turns both of their lives upside-down. Rory tames Finn’s wild ways, while he shows her that life can’t be all work and no play. But it’ll take some serious determination to keep their love secret—and real courage to admit the truth.

Really loving this "Boston Love" series...

Finn Ward is a Firefighter and has been for 9 years. Both Finn and his bestfriend Colton are known as the players of the station from the Captain. Finn is pretty sure that the Captain has it out for him, as Finn has to look after the new station dog who is only a few months old named Flash. One day while all the Firefighters are having a Union meeting, Finn is barely keeping his eyes open. In the middle of all this, Finn catches the eye of a real beauty. Both Finn and this beauty are flirting with each other and by the end of the meeting Finn must know who this woman is. They briefly talk and Finn's name is called by another Firefighter and by the time he turns back to this beauty she is gone.

Rory Adams is fresh out of Law School and has worked very hard and won all of her cases as she is trying to make a point in her mother's law firm. Rory does not want to be handed things easily in the law firm just because her mother owns it. Rory is all work and no play as she has worked hard for where she is today and cannot afford any distractions. Rory really has never had a real relationship, or one where it has made her feel butterflies and all the feelings of a new relationship. Her father Captain Adams has stipulated for Rory to never date a Firefighter as she does not want her go through what Rory's mother went through. During a Union meeting a certain Firefighter catches her eye and she finds herself flirting back and trying not laugh at this person who is falling asleep.

Both Finn and Rory must know each other but what complicates things between the two is that, Finn's captain is Rory's dad and Captain Adams does not want Rory to date a Firefighter.

I love Kelly Elliott book the only thing was I felt disappointed that Rory's dad didn't redeem himself in the end that was a little sad probably the only bad comment I've made on any of her books😢

Rory Adams is a woman that's done everything in her power to make her parents proud of her. However, she never expected to meet a man like Finn Ward; a gorgeous man that turns her world upside down, especially since her father is Finn's boss and her father has always been adamant that he'll never accept her dating a firefighter. Can they find a way to achieve their happy ever after when so much seemed stacked against them?

Ms. Elliott is a new-to-me author, and after finishing this story, I can't wait to read more. From start to finish, this book had me hooked with its well-written dialogue, the main characters back stories, and their growing relationship. At times, it seemed this couple would never overcome the obstacles they faced. Should they give a relationship between them a chance? How would her father react? Would her being with Finn cause a permanent rift between father and daughter?

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories, this couple's growing relationship and the obstacles these two face to achieve their happy ever after. Rory has some tough choices to make and I could sympathize with her, because her father is a total jerk. Just because he made mistakes doesn't mean that Finn would make the same ones, even though he was a total player before meeting the heroine. However, the dialogue wasn't all intense. There was also some really good playful banter between the hero and heroine that had me smiling, especially when they or the secondary characters talked about the past. How much Finn used to like Rory when they were little, and what he said about their future. Does it come true?

Kelly Elliott has delivered again! I have loved Kelly since I first read the Wanted series so long ago, her books always suck me straight in and I can't put them down until I finish! This book was no different, I was pulled right into the story and couldn’t get enough of Finn and Rory.

Finn is your typical playboy, has no intention of settling down and the word relationship makes him break out in a cold sweat! The thing is he was such a loveable git you just couldn’t help but fall for him. He see’s Rory at a meeting and can’t take his eyes off her. I loved Finn, he was sweet, charming, loved his family and had a heart of gold underneath the playboy persona he gave off. He definitely had me swooning with his romantic gestures!

Rory is the fire captains daughter, she has been forbidden to date firefighters by her father! Rory doesn’t need nor does she want a distraction from her career, but fate doesn’t care about things like that! She is instantly drawn to Finn but fights it every step of the way until she finally realises what she is missing out on.

Finn is Preston’s older brother so we get to see some of Preston and Harmony in this book. We find out whats happened with them and are included in a special event in their lives which I loved getting to see!

Captain Adams is a complete jerk, I hated him and really wanted to junk punch the old goat! His wife wasn’t much better at times!

This book had everything I love in it, I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put this book down. I just wish we could have seen if things ever got sorted for Rory!
