And then, at the end of Fourth Day, there is the disaster that left me with no alternative but to immediately get my hands on the next book, Fifth Victim, to learn what happens next. And the end of _that_ book left me in emotional limbo even more... Just when a new chance for happiness seemed to open up, Charlie seems to have screwed it up for herself, and for others maybe also. The one boundary that she never would cross, has been crossed. What does that mean for her relationships with the people around her? And what has she done to herself?
Zoe Sharp: You cannot leave us with an ending like this! I need to know what happens next to Charlie, Sean and Parker... Don't leave us here!
Needless to say, the Charlie Fox novels are one hell of a read. I have read all of Coben's and Child's novels, and I thoroughly enjoyed every single of them. But Zoe Sharp is just better... Wow!
As far as the plot line goes, this is one of the weaker books in the series. Charlie is protecting a college- age heiress, she's falling in love a bit with Parker Armstrong 'cos Sean's in a coma and you'll probably guess who the bad guy is about halfway through.
Typical unpredictable Charlie Fox novel. A unique lead character, whom Sharp develops more with every new novel. I really don't care for "detective fiction", but the Charlie novels are something out of the ordinary.
I don't know how to write more without spoiling; all I can really say is that if you read one Charlie Fox novel, you'll be waiting for the next, or trying to find the earlier books (good luck).
Buy it, you'll like it.
Expanded story line with more mystery than her past books.
However, I did miss some of the interesting details and adventures about motor cycles.
Ms. Sharp is keeping Charlie's evolving personal life as a back drop to the character's "kick ass when you gotta role as a personal protection guard".
I read this genre for entertainment; and will continue to read about Charile through Ms Sharp.
Mr Child....I have my replacement for Jack.....Charlie!
