Asthetically, I think it's one of the prettiest in Fender's catalogue which is saying a lot. I debated between the Surf Green and 3 tone sunburst for a while but I went with the green and I'm glad I did. Hopefully Fender keeps this around so they can expand the colors, I'd like to see it in the Mustang red, or maybe an orange.
Pull the trigger you won't be disappointed!
Great for most all genres, I see this as an excellent rock guitar or jazz guitar, but the depth of tone here can really be great for blues and funk as well.
I write & record my own music. This electric tenor makes for a great rhythm guitar. Use a 6 string as lead.
It would also make for a great 1st guitar, if you have any aspiring musicians running around at home. Would think that even a child as young as 5 or 6 would find this electric tenor light enough to hold, & its neck narrow enough to wrap their fingers around.
Yes, I'd prefer a rotary PU selector and a true Fender bridge instead of the Gotoh (which really isn't bad), but that's OK. My main gripe is the sunburst finish has way too much "fade" and lacks the "banded" look of the originals.
On the other hand, it arrived *in tune* with perfect set-up. So that was a plus.
Finding a well-fitting hard-shell case -- THAT is going to be a challenge.
