~She may've lost all respect for the athlete he'd once been, when he seemed to lose his love for the sport and went all Hollywood instead, but she could definitely see why so many women wanted a piece of him. He was amazing.~
Let me just start by saying that I am completely new to this series, this is the first book I have read, and while I never really suffered any confusion or felt like I was lost, I do wish I had read the other books for no other reason than I really want the back stories on the previous couples now!! I can't even begin to explain just how much I loved this book, it had everything I love in a great romance; chemistry, drama, angst & tears, sexy-as-hell sweaty Alpha's, STRONG female leads, laughs and plenty of steam without the ever dreaded insta-love. So sooo many fantastic characters to cling to-it's clear the 5th-street crew is a family, all very close, all extremely loyal, always there for each other and always ready with a laugh and some well timed ribbing when needed. Felix and Ella both have such heartbreaking backgrounds, events that should have destroyed most people and nearly did Felix; but Ella is such an amazingly strong woman, she not only pulled her family through all their tragedies but she helped bring Felix back to life in a way he never though possible-and frankly, scared the crap outta him. But I have to say, when that man puts his mind to something he goes all out to get, and keep, what he wants. Yes, he still had his a$$hat moments-he is still a man after all, but he recognizes when he's being a douche right away and immediately sets out to fix what he broke. Ella has this wonderful ability to not judge people, looks past the surface to whats underneath, and knows how to forgive without becoming a doormat. I really have no complaints other than this came to an end-I don't think any length or amount of pages would have been too much for me. Elizabeth Reyes skyrocketed her way onto my One-Click-Addiction List with this fabulous group of people and I CANNOT WAIT to start back at the beginning or to see what she brings us next.
~Felix drove away, unable to fight the feeling that maybe he was in trouble. Trouble because he'd known this girl for all of one day and already all he could think about was getting back to 5th Street tomorrow and seeing her again. He tried to shake it, but what made the feeling worse was that feelings like this brought back memories.~

We learn a few things about what happened in Felix's past that are truely heartbreaking and give us a little light as to why he went off the rails a bit. The way this event was written about was really touching and brought a tear to my eye. It showed a sensitive side to him that perhaps we didn't know exist. It was also interesting to see that the events of Gio's book still have such an impact on him which lead to insecurites with his relationship with Ella.
A serious event towards the end of the book really surprised me but once again showed me that this amazing author can handle difficult subjects well and allowed Felix to show what a complete sweetheart he is.
The book finished with epilogues for all of the 5th Street Boys so we got to see how many children they all had...all I'm saying is that I think there is plenty of potential for 5th Street the next generation with all those boys!
A perfect ending to an amazing series. Thanks Elizabeth.
Felix wasn't a particularly nice character in the other books but Elizabeth Reyes has done a brilliant job in writing him as someone that we can empathise with and like. Ella, as the girl he falls for is another well rounded character and you just want them to fall for each other.
It's no secret they do but I'm not going to give any of the storyline away except to say, I never expected what happened at all. With most books, you can usually guess a little but I never thought of this plot ingredient at all. It's a good one, detailed and it was nice to see all the other characters involved, especially Nellie. (It was a shame that Roni didn't feature much.)
I liked it and it made me want to read the others again.
Without giving anything away, the turn at the end truly surprised me, I was convinced the story was going in a different direction so when it took the turn it did I was shocked, it made me feel so much compassion for the characters as if they were my friends in real life. Elizabeth wasn't afraid to use some unconventional storylines to test her characters resolve and it was fascinating to see insights into Felix's life before he met Ella.
The ending gives us an update on where all the other boxers are in the future and is very satisfying to read.
