Wow, what can I say. I really enjoyed Fate's Mistake. Call me crazy, but I'm actually drawn to books that contain issues that are a part of reality, such as domestic violence. Maybe it’s the notion that love isn't always easy. That in the real world finding your prince charming isn't like the books make it out to be. When we find love, it's not always beautiful, it can be the devil in disguise.

Fate's Mistake is about a young woman named Kinley (love the name) who meets Jeremy, a seemingly nice guy, good looking, career minded, polite, charming - every parents dream for their child.

Kinley adores her parents: she has her reasons, (which you find out early in the book), which are quite sweet and she learns to adore Jeremy, just as her parents do and marries him, thinking he's perfect and her forever. But oh, golly gosh, he is far from perfect. It is here that everything changes.

The book begins 5 years into their marriage where Kinley is the "doting" wife , and I use doting loosely as she is forced to be a doting wife or heed the consequences. It is in the few hours of the day where she is allowed to leave the house that she meets Danny.

Kinley, who is (in my opinion) clearly suffering from battered wife's syndrome, suffers day in and day out, ostracized from friends and family, feeling totally alone in this world, but the goodwill and one gesture, one person "seeing you", one person to reach out and tell you that you aren't alone, even when you think you are, that changes Kinley's life and gives her the courage to try and get out.

This book is about overcoming the depravities of a violent relationship.

I didn't read the first book and had absolutely no trouble following the story. This book can definitely be read as a standalone. It was an absolutely great read with a twist I wasn't expecting at the end. Physical abuse is real and happens every day, this story shows that with the right help people can survive this. This book has it all abuse, lawyers, friends, love and a twist that I thought was great.

Danny is an awesome man and Kinley is an amazing woman. He sees her at the gym, having had a sister go through abuse, he notices some behaviors from Kinley that suggest she may be going through the same. He is a stranger, he becomes a friend and that friendship turns to LOVE.

This book is a MUST READ!
You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!!! 10 September 2014

Wow, this book is amazing. I think Brandace Morrow is my new favorite author! The writing and the storytelling is amazing. I have read a lot of books lately, where the male main characters are abusive to their wife, but instead portraying them as bad men, the author's choose to redeem them, allowing the main female character to love them despite this abuse. Then all the readers fall in love with him too. I'm sorry, but that is just wrong! I love this book because, Kinley' s husband is abusive, he is a bad guy and never once does the author try to redeem him or make anyone love him. The story starts with Kinley married to Jeremy, who is abusive to her. He does terrible things to her, and she is broken emotionally. He makes her run 10 miles everyday on the treadmill at the gym. In fact, that is the only time she is allowed out of the house. Finally after 5 years of this, someone notices her at the gym and offers to help her.His name is Danny and he is her savior. A lot happens, and I could barely put it down. There is sadness, then there are struggles and healing, then laughter. There are some really funny laugh out loud parts. It is a very touching book. You have to read it, because it is awesome and refreshing!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!! And A Shocking Twist 25 August 2014

I received this book as a gift from an amazing person who asked my opinion of this book .... Can I say Holy Jesus I didn't really know what this story was about but I started reading and I found myself hooked!!!

This is an amazing story about a woman named Kinley and she thought that she met the perfect man who she brought home to her parents who meant the world to her. Well Fate to guess was wrong there because she ended up living in hell for the next five years counting down the days til he killed her.......

Danny is an amazing hot country star who was also in a bad way and thought that he married the perfect woman a high school sweetheart but I guess what was wrong again .....

What happens when Fate decides that it made a mistake and corrects that mistake???? If you want to know then get this amazing book that you will not be able to put down oh yeah and a few shocking twist along the way that will have you saying WHAT!?! Oh and remember Deklan from Fan Girl yep you will see him again!!!

If you need a ton of heat this is not for you
If you need a lot of mushy words this is not for you
If you need the characters to just 'get on with it' THIS IS NOT FOR YOU.
If you want a journey, good and bad, something that will move you, this IS the book for you.

I was caught up in the story, word for word and as misery turned to comfort turned to love and true faith I felt like I've had the best ride of my life!

This is not about sex or lust, it's about pain and truth, it's about finding yourself. Healing. It's about life. Real life. It's about believing. Belief in Fate. Belief in what's greater than us.

I am not a fan of what I like to call brain chatter. All that in the head talk. I want to see the conversation but in Fate's Mistake you didn't really need a book full of conversation. What you read was real and true. What was said was meaningful and significant. It was all about showing what could be- what can be. What IS.

When Danny opens his mouth I want to dive right in. He was, no IS the perfect man. He tries. He loves. He hopes. He HEALS. This man is pure excellence. The simple, humanly thing he did for one tortured woman just makes my heart explode. Sure he had a worthy reason, but he did something. I hope to GOD that there are real human beings like Danny in the real world.

"Stay with me pretty girl. Run to me. I'm here,"

Beside the main characters being pretty much perfection, the supporting characters were more than my ideal kind. Every person in this book played a part- certainly some terribly bad, but the others? They were more than a good addition. Fate needed each one to heal and repair.

"He is hard not to fall for."
"He's beautiful"
"Si, he is. He need you.
"I offered to be the nanny."
"Who you talking about?"
"The baby."
"I was talking about the man."

I had many, many favorite parts to this story. But I can't share those with you without giving something away. I would love to type up my most favorite scenes and quotes instead you need to experience it for yourself and I promise you'll be tagging pages and highlighting my favorite parts aswell.

5 Unbelievable Beautiful Stars
5.0 out of 5 stars This book exceeds anything that I could have ever expected, I wish I could give it more stars!!!!! 28 August 2014

Brandace Morrow you have done it again, this book exceeds anything I could have ever expected. Your ability to tackle the tough topic of abuse and the need for the victims to have a way to reach out for help, for them to know that there is someone out there that not only cares but that will help them get out of their current situation, to give them hope.

The story of Kinley is heartbreaking, but the strength that she demonstrates in her ability to break free of her abuser is indescribable. She grew up seeing how perfect and loving her parents were to her and each other that is all she ever wanted. When they began encouraging her to give Jeremy a chance she wanted to make them proud. She had no idea what that would cost her. Just when Kinley has almost given up a stranger comes into her life that give her hope.

Danny is a muscular, big, sexy, hunk of a man. He doesn’t know what exactly was happening but when he saw this girl in distress he knew he had to speak up. He wanted to be able to offer help, be present for her if she would except to hopefully give her a better chance at life.

This book is a crazy twisted up version of fate that hooks the reader and had me holding my breath waiting to see what is going to happen next. The journey for Kinley trying to escape her abuser and find out who she really is is very difficult at times and very rewarding at times.

The characters in this book are so lovable. The connection that Kinley and Danny have from the first meeting when he is rapping to the tile wall of the bathroom of the gym to help her, is undeniable. Danny is the white knight that every girl dreams of; he has had his fair share of heartache in his life, but still maintains his positive outlook and his humbleness in helping others when they need it. One of my all time favorite characters is Lu, the no-nonsense free spirit that just happens to walk into Kinley’s life when she needs a friend the most. Lu is someone who is not going to sugarcoat the hard stuff for Kinley; she pushes her when no one else will. She is the kind of friend I would want to have.

There are just so many things I want to say about this book, but I also don’t want to give anything away, so what I must say is everyone should check this out. You don't want to miss Kinley and Danny's story. Just be aware you will need some Kleenex’s along the way.

This was a pretty gritty book because of the look that was given to abuse. We first had the abuse that Kinley as a married adult who suffered tremendously at the hands of her brutal husband. The author did a great job showing you the setup many abusers take. Great guy, get the parents to love him, and then everything changes.

It was Danny that was her savior...or was it really Lu? If only everyone has a Danny in their life. Danny not only became Kinley's savior he also had to save his own son from his ex-wife. With Kinley along for the saving of Ollie, Danny recused that poor little poor from a life no child should ever endure.

After coming off from reading Fan Girl it was nice to see how Dek and Ali still were a part of this storyline. Brandace Morrow has created characters that make you not only "feel" for them but you can't help wanting to know what ever becomes of them in the future. With that said I am off to read Finding Sadie and can't wait to see where Ms. Morrow takes me now.
