Because the h was continually referred to as 'the young witch' and I wasn't exactly sure of her age, she came across as a teenager and a bit immature, who was mated to an older dragon/man so it seemed a bit weird to me and I couldn't feel their connection.
How the H survived for so long wasn't adequately explained for me and the spells and witch craft side of things were a bit over-explained and drawn out and I found myself skimming those spell pages (and it still took me 3 days to finish). A few minor editing issues as well, not totally off putting but still there.
Overall just an ok read for me and if your new to the series I wouldn't recommend starting with this one. It was nice to see snippets from previously mention characters. Not sure if I'll continue with this series as this is book 10 and I think it might be done for me.
The plot is great but the h for this book is not what i would call a 'warrior'.
Her dragon has been calling to her, his perception of her is that she is 'strong' and 'just right' for him - like a warrior. I'm thinking, what the hell, never heard of her in the other books? Her character is that unremarkable, I can't even remember her. The only female warrior I can recall is Kyra!
I originally rated this a one star, but gave it another star because i like the storyline in the series.
The story is easy to read but has many proofing errors which I find irritating but many would ignore or not worry about . Still it affects the rating as far as I’m concerned. I thought that I had only read one book in the series prior to this but, on checking my library I found that I have read a lot of them. It a particularly memorable series but, as I said easy to read. The promise of Drago being a strong character did not come to fruition. Alicia seemed to be too young since I was under the impression that witches lived longer lives as did the dragons. Her family seemed just like any normal family and none of her sisters were mentioned as being strong witches. Melanie, who is supposed to be nearly as strong as Kyra, is not involved at all. Fans of the series will love it though. I give it three stars because it’s ok but not brilliant.
What an exciting thing has happened to the Dragon Guards. Drago has been found after being imprisoned by the Dorcha over 100 years ago.
When the Dragon Guards attacked the Dorcha to save Hannah and Liam in HER DRAGONS SOUL, a disturbance in the black magic practised by the Dorcha occurred.
This allowed Drago to sense his mate was near and he starts calling her to help him.
Alicia is one of the seven powerful witches from the McKennon family and believes she is going mad hearing a voice calling to her.
Once the others believe Aliciais hearing Drago, a massive rescue mission occurs to get Drago free from his black magic imbued slow death-trap coffin.
Drago was the leader of the original MacLendon Force, also known as The Assassin, he is a legend amongst the Dragon Guard.
Following on from the place of Drago's imprisonment they are also able to rescue Calysta, Kyra’s mother who has been a sub story, and the horrible Grand Draoi, Clellan, gets a nasty surprise.
I love how the women play a powerful pivotal part in this series.

This was a lovely story with lots of emotions, drama and fighting both to save each other as well as find and destroy the person who had imprisoned him. This had lots of drama, danger, excitement, magic, violence and some sexual content. Well written and very enjoyable. It is part of a series but can be read stand-alone.
