I always enjoy Dorothy Howell's books & this one is right up there!!! This is the third book in the Dana Mackenzie series. This time Dana gets tangled up in a murder when she receives an early morning emergency call from her best friend. Things heat up as she tries to prove Julia's innocence, figure out what her brother Rob is hiding, deal with work problems, & sort out her feelings & relationship with ex boyfriend Nick. With everything hitting at one time Dana fights to hold on to her sanity. From beginning to end I found I was kept on the edge of my seat!! I was pleased with the book & hope there will be more books in this series in the future.
Finally! Nick makes his intentions known. I bought this final book in the series hoping to get an answer on the Nick and Dana situation and it's finally resolved. This series reads like fan fiction for Stephanie Plum books, but it is funny in parts. The ending in this book felt rushed, but the final scene and conversations that were going on all around Dana was hilarious.
I’ve really enjoyed these books and wish there were more! This was a good wrap up and I was happy with the ending. I like Dana’s style and how she investigates.
I love this series! If you love cozy mystery novels, you're going to love it, too. There's a great mystery, romance, and great characters. What really blew me away though was how perfectly executed the final scene was. The author did an amazing job at showing several characters reacting to something. It was perfect. I can't recommend this book enough.
