I think farcry peaked at the 3rd or possibly 4th game.

This seems to lack the engagement of the previous games and I stopped playing it as a result

Game is great and looks amazing on the ps5/ xbox series x. Storyline is pretty good for a game. But the game requires an active Ubisoft account linked to your ps5/ xbox profile even to play the story without online coop, which is unnecessarily and overly complicated for no reward.

Just a fair warning, the disc itself barely contains any Series X data at all (735MB to be exact). You'll need to download an additional 68GB of data.

The game also won't start without being linked to an Ubisoft account. You literally cannot get past the title screen without one.
