Kasey Millstead is another author who I thoroughly enjoy reading.... her books are not all the same old thing... they are each different in their own way.......

Family Secrets is another great story...... I'm a big fan of "Step Brother / Sister" stories... and this book takes a different twist on that type of story.... We follow the story of Cassidy Delaney who's had a tough life.... she decides it's finally time to start dateing again.... so she signs up for a TV program hopeing to meet the love of he life......

Brock Mason is a sexy, super rich guy..... his life has been very easy, although he did loose the person who thought to be the love of his life....... he's now running the family business.....

This is only a "short" story, which I finished in a few hours.... there are lots of twists and turns that you certainly don't see coming..... It's another great story by Kasey and one that I thoroughly enjoyed.....

I received an ARC from the Author for an honest review.... this did not influence my views in anyway.......

I received an ARC of 'Family Secrets' from Kasey, in exchange form an honest review.

I love how Kasey is able to write in just about any genre, always dealing with real life events that could really happen. I found myself quickly lost within the story of Cassi & Brock, a step brother romance with a difference. 'Family Secrets' is a stand alone from Kasey... which is awesome, but I could have read more about them both.

Seventeen year old Cassidy arrives home to be told her mother had remarried whilst she was away & that they were moving into her husbands house that day. Let me just say Cassi's mother is a piece of work, that women has not a single maternal bone in her body, I felt the need to jump into the book & king hit the women. Cassi bumps into her step brother that night & sparks fly betweent them. Cassi quickly becomes friends with her new step fathers daughter & Brock is there to keep her safe from older guys at parties... Things don't stay all innocent & we soon learn all the secrets to why Cassi doesn't have the family support she obviously wants & needs.

I FLOVED how things played out in this book, Cassi & Brock come together at the start & it's a shock to both of them & only Cassi & her mother know why she left. Brock, being Brock wont take NO for an answer & wants to know why she left & the absolute truth. This step-brother romance is very different to others I have read. I enjoyed learning, through memories, the events that lead to everything... I especially loved the lead up to the end & how it happened. There was a bit of jumping through time so you could understand the events, but Kasey made sure everything was labeled so I wasn't confused. I can't wait to read more of Kasey's books.

For those who know me – I have been actively avoiding step relationship books … I have read three now … this one included, but I do have to say Kudos to Kasey.

This is definitely not the norm that you might have read through the sea of step relationship books that seem to have flooded the market in recent months.

Kasey has managed to change my opinion of ‘avoid’ to ‘if you have to read one – read this one!’ I can’t give too much away without it being a spoiler but this is a heartbreaking story of lust and love – both instant and unconditional.

I was laughing at the date interview scene – candidate two had me in fits. You’ll have to just read it to see why he is such a winner … not! Cassie is instantly likeable. She’s looking to get into the dating world and signs up to a dating tv show. Way to jump back into the dating pool! She has an overbearing and unsupportive mother – Kasey did great with this character too – I was flabbergasted at her callous ways.

I love hating on book characters – it’s a sick pleasure of mine. I can’t help but wonder if Kasey modelled her on someone in real life.

Again, please don’t dismiss this book as another in the sea of similar – it’s not and you are going to miss out on a great read. I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review from Abibliophobia Anonymous Book Reviews 25 May 2015

Review from Abibliophobia Anonymous Book Reviews

This is another great book by Kasey Millstead. I loved reading this. I haven't read many step brother books, but this one is great. I couldn't put it down. Not only is this a step brother romance book, it also deals with family secrets.

Cassidy Delaney never really had a mother that loved her. And once she became pregnant, it was either get rid of the baby, or leave the family for good so that her mess up wouldn't get out and ruin her mother's life. Especially because of who the father is. She was not allowed to say goodbye, or tell anyone, including the father of the child, that she was pregnant. Her best friend makes her go on a dating show and that's when the secrets start to come out.

Brock Mason met Cassidy when she was 17. His father married her mother. There was an instant attraction though. He had to have her. Then she just up and disappears for 6 years. He finally sees her again and has so many questions about why she left all those years ago. He's been keeping a family secret also. He was with his step sister. Brock is a true alpha male, even as a teenager he was. But what will happen when he learns about Cassi's other little secret? I was very happy with how he reacted to it.

This book was a quick read for me. I loved it. I loved how it ended, especially when Cassi's mom got what she deserved! I always jump at the chance to review Kasey Millstead books. I haven't read one that I didn't love!

5.0 out of 5 stars What's done in the dark....... 23 May 2015

*********I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review*******

Young love is tough and is even tougher when it's forbidden. Brock & Cassi meet as late teens when there parents married. Things were innocent enough but there was an undeniable spark between them so they started a secret relationship. But all secrets are not good ones, Cassi is found out & at 18 has to make am extremely hard decision about her future. Five years have since passed Cassi is determined & even though it's hard carves out a great life for herself. Once she's stable her friends signs her up for a dating TV show & that's when the past comes back to the surface......Brock is back & he wants answers. He is shocked to say the very least but glad she's back but secrets will be revealed because what's done in the dark always comes to light. This book was a great read, you just can't help but fall in love with the characters and root for them. There are some you just came help but hate either, Celia had me seeing RED! I mean the nerve of her, so cold & dismissive. All I. All it's a book you won't want to miss out on,great read from a great writer

3.0 out of 5 stars Great premise, but the story was too rushed 28 May 2015

Family Secrets had a great premise, but something was missing with this story in my opinion.

We meet Cassidy (Cassi) when she's 17 and finds out while she was on a school trip, her mother has gotten married and she's about to meet her new step-father and step-siblings. When she runs (literally) into Brock she can't take her eyes off of him. Things quickly heat up between these two, and then all of a sudden, Cassi has disappeared without a word.

Cassi and Brock see each other again five years later, and Cassi has a secret, and Brock wants answers. I did like the back and forth of Brock trying to get Cassi's secret out and to figure out why she left with no word all those years ago. I am not sure how Brock didn't figure out her secret sooner, but when it was all said and done, he took it a lot better than I thought he would.

Now like I said the premise of this story was awesome, a different twist on the step sibling romance, but I felt at times this book was too rushed, and too wordy. We had a lot of lead up to the secret coming out, and what happened in their past, and then I felt like we were rushed through the ending of the story, which is where I think it could have really gotten good.

One thing I would have liked to have seen is more of what these two did while they were apart for five years. Why Brock didn't try harder to find Cassi if he truly wanted to see her, how they never ran into each other living so close to one another, and how some things were forgiven so easily.

Like I said, the book had a good story, but was too rushed in my opinion and needed some more story in it. This was a very quick read, and I do enjoy Kasey's books, this one just wasn't on my fave list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every Family has Secrets 27 May 2015
By Riley Lynn - Published on Amazon.com

I turn my face into his neck and inhale his delicious scent - mint, sweat and the most deliciously intoxicating deodorant I've ever smelled. My head rests on his shoulder and if I pucker my lip, they'd meet the skin of his neck. I could taste him if I wanted to. Damn, I want to. But, it's wrong. So wrong. My mother would pitch a fit if she found out about this.

I honestly believe I have NEVER come across a book boyfriend sexier than Brock Mason. He is physical perfection. With his black, bed head hair and aquamarine color eyes, he got me hot and bothered through his description alone. Brock's personality matches the rest of him. Complete sex on a stick. When Cassidy describes his deep, husky voice, I swear I whimpered. I have Brock Mason brain this week and I'm enjoying reliving every single minute of it. There's truth in what Cassidy says, he is absolutely intoxicating.

Yes, I have read Kasey Millstead's Family Secrets more than once. I really loved this story and I am totally in love with Brock Mason. He is beyond swoon worthy and if I could jump into this book and into Brock's bed, I would.

Every family has secrets, right? Some families have bigger secrets than others. Some families try to hide those secrets. And sometimes even if we're very careful, the secrets come out.

Cassidy Delaney is a contestant on a dating game. It will be the first time she's been on a date in five long years. She's a single mom who has worked hard on her own to be successful. Needless to say, she wasn't the one who signed on for this dating game. Her friend Renee signed her up and the events leading up to the filming of her date were just one disaster after another.

Finally seated and asking the bachelors her questions, they all seem nice enough. Bachelors number one and number three seem to hold the most promise. Bachelor number three has all the right answers and a very sexy voice that almost sounds familiar to Cassidy, who is now called Cassi.

When the time comes to choose a winner for her date, bachelor number three wins hands down. Well, that is until he comes out from behind the screen and Cassi looks at him in horror and runs off the set. Brock runs after Cassi and it becomes clear that the two know each other. It's also clear they left off on not the best of terms.

The two met as teenagers after their parents were married. So yes, they are step siblings. Step siblings with boiling hot chemistry between them. The kind of chemistry where you feel the person in the room before you see them. The type of chemistry where you get goose bumps at the slightest contact with them. That's what Brock and Cassidy had. When Cassidy finally gives in to her desires, she and Brock are off the chain hot. Cassidy is addicted. He's her first and he made her first time perfection.

Unfortunately, when the biggest secret comes out, Cassidy is forced to leave her home at the hand of her pretentious and despicable mother. Her mother was a horror and had no business treating her daughter the way she did. Don't worry, she gets hers.

Anyway, after the awkwardness of meeting up on the dating show, Cassi finally agrees to a sit down with Brock. She knows it's only a matter of time before he finds out about the secret she's been keeping for five years and why she ran away from home. Now that she's back in his life, Brock is not letting Cassi go again. He straight out says, this time, I'm going to keep her.

The story moves seamlessly from the past to the future. You learn about Cassidy and Brock's passion as teenagers and the feelings they still feel for each other as adults. This time Brock insists on taking it slow and he romances Cassidy in the most wonderful way.

Now, I'm not giving away the secrets because, I really want you to read Family Secrets. One click the book to meet the uber sexy, supremely swoon worthy Brock Mason. You'll also fall in love with Cassidy who is a fantastically strong female character. She fought through adversity on her own and has done a terrific job.

Kasey Millstead definitely created characters who invoke strong feelings. From the characters we love, to the ones we loathe, Family Secrets has both.

I'm giving Family Secrets a five lip smack review. I love the story and I love, love, love, Brock Mason.
