Abby, Zane and their simmering, longtime attraction; the bonds of friendship and understanding; and the beauty of a loving family to come to when the going gets tough.
I loved Abby and her "free" looks and tastes. I also understood what it's like to be bullied relentlessly at school. 😥
And Zane... he's not REALLY a ninjabot. 😉 He's thoughtful and soft underneath that robot exterior. Totes had me swooning. 😍 My daughters love that he shares the name for their favourite Lego Ninjago character, ha ha!
Read this book! Excited for the next one too!

If I was to sum up what reading this book was like I would have to say it was like spending time with my friends; I laughed, smiled, sighed and lost track of time. Simply put this was my cup of tea. It was funny, cute, caring, a touch wacky, romantic, flirty, had great examples of different relationships and shone brightly with life and love. I really want to start reading book two in this series now, I hope I don't have to wait too long....hint hint.... I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an ARC.....and then I bought myself a copy :-)
giving it a wide birth, but once Abby started working
with Zane, the story picked up dramatically. 4 stars
given because it was a lovely story once it picked up.
Me while reading it:
Blah blah blah
blah blah blah
There's not a whole lot of plot besides them falling in love. Abby's supposed to be a programmer and that's cool, but it wasn't really talked about much other than that she worked once in a while. The greatest weakness of this book is that part of it is told from Zane's perspective. I have a problem with romance books that have the guy's perspective because I find it so unreal (I mean, more unreal that even a romance book). Zane is a young entrepreneur, the CEO of a startup company, working crazy hours of 8-10, and yet all he can think about is Abby? Pretty sure he is thinking a LOT about work and not just her hair and lips etc. etc.
Will I read the sequel because it's about a girl who's in love with her older boss and I love age gaps? Yup. Am I a sucker? Yup.
